Sped Music News (Weeds!)

Well, I've taken my first step towards actually attempting to generate a little income from my work.

I now have songs featured at www.weedtunes.com
(two listings: Richard Dunlap and You and Me).

I really encourage other Yesfan musicians with music to share to look into the Weed system. It's really still only in it's "preview" stage, hasn't been officially launched publicly yet. So on the one hand, actual sales are very light right now. But on the other hand, I think it's a great time to get involved, before one's tunes get buried under too many other artists, and to already be a part of it when they do premier on a larger scale.

By the way, I should mention to everyone that at least during this preview period, anyone who downloads the Weed software gets $5 credit to start buying weed files (they're typically around a buck each). (hint, hint)

The software is not required to listen to weed files (3 listens for free), only to purchase them or to benefit from sharing them (if you share a weed file with someone who ends up buying it, you get a percentage of that sale! and the artist always gets 50%). The software is a very small, easy download. The only personal info it requires is an email address. To take full advantage you'll also need a PayPal account (I'm not sure offhand if that's necessary to take advantage of the $5 credit though).

It's cool to be on this site because I realized I'm now only a few clicks away from Robert Fripp:
Ars Divina is featured on the Links page at the Discipline Global Mobile website.

I've actually sold a few weed files too, from the first weed site to feature me, www.weedtunes.com
Most of these sales were probably to other distributors, some I know were to Ars Divina.

I also have 6 new weeds (3 of mine, 3 from You and Me) featured in the Ars Divina Weed Garden that aren't at Weedtunes (hopefully Weedtunes will "harvest" these from Ars Divina.)

With the exception of a couple cassette tapes many years ago, I've never sold any of my music before, this is very exciting!
