I saw the new YesSpeak DVD in my local W H Smith store today. It is #31 in the music DVD chart. Not bad to say it was only released today (pre-orders).
It is so frustrating though. Someone kindly wants to buy it for me for christmas. So I will just have to hold out for another 4 weeks before I get to see it.
Yes, great news - got mine this morning (and in Lewisham W H Smith of all places), will watch it when I get home around 20.00 tonight.
Shame about the cover, much prefer the US one.
Has anyone actually watched it yet?
Just want to know if it plays ok - there have been so many issues recently with other prog DVD, such as Flower Kings, Transatlantic and Rush In Rio.
Anyone?

Please give us a review ASAP!
I will be happy to give an impression of it once I have watched it later, unless someone else beats me to it.
I have posted a short review in the spoiler area with my impressions. For those interested. I had been to the preview organised by a French Fan Club in Paris.

Can't honestly see why the spoilers area needs to be used, but, hey, each to his own.......
So far, I'm a little underwhelmed by Yesspeak. For starters, there are only tantalising glimpses (sound and vision) of the live shows it was filmed at. As for the story itself, it's a familiar one, at least to anyone who knows anything at all about YES. For me, it's a bit of a re-run, although updated, of Yesyears. So far anyway.
Gotta say, it's a bit of a marathon! I'm only half way through, and after dinner and two beers I'm glaring at Rush in Rio which I also bought today!!!
I'll report back when the whole thing's done.
Highlights......... seeing Yes members' families at last, and shots of Yes in a home setting rather than a concert one.
Lowlights...... Chris believes The Yes Album was No 1 in the Uk charts when it came out. I have news for you Chris. It wasn't M8!
PS We won the Rugby World Cup. taught those Aussie bas****s a trick or two!!

Had to let you win the World Cup - hope it takes away the disappointment at being beaten at everything else!
Just joking :)

I have seen it all and listened to the live concert audio up until SSOTS Absolutley spine tinglingly marvelous (Birmingham) version
This is why I love Yes - THE MUSIC, THE MUSIC, THE MUSIC!! The mix is superb, the vocals (all) are crisp and it is easy to make out who is singing what - I may be mad, but I think it is their best live audio release to date. It is sooo frustrating that the music is accompanied by stills of the shows instead of the obvious live footage they have in abundance!!
Spinal Tap or what!
Roger Daltry is as good a narrator as he is an actor!
Highlights of the 'Rockumentory' for me so far:
Alan's pronunciation of Bournemouth.
Jon comparing his paradise coastal home to 'the topography of Lancashire, but without the bad weather' whilst lounging in a string hammock (bet he's never done that in Accrington!)
Chris's family 'photo - no tension in THAT family then!
Steve's 'musicians are the music' speech - Very Jon...
Rick's morbid predictions of loneliness, ill health and death (make that one a low light, I love the guy!)
Footage of the 'World Music Stage' at Glastonbury - I had visions of Jon saying 'We are trying something new tonight, you are wittnessing the birth of the new Yes / Jazz / Fusion / prog / free form jam!!' De ja vu?
Total Mass :yesbird:
PS I got it from Virgin, Oxford Rd London for £15.99! Then Chris only goes and mentions Virgin, Oxford Road in the bloody DVD - Magic.

Sorry guys, I thought it was a BIG let down. The documentary, whilst interesting, doesn't lend itself to repeated viewing, whereas a totally concert - led DVD would have had more longevity.
It's been a missed opportunity for the band (again). They could easily have had an hour's documentary ('Rockumentary if you like') and some uninterrupted live footage.
I'm afraid it doesn't match YesYears for me, and so it remains that YesSymphonic is for me, still their best video/DVD release to date.
Shame.
