I have gotten the Rhino remastered CD of TFTO and was looking at my original LP and noticed that there was an extra planet on the LP cover that was not on the CD cover! I call it ... Planet Y. I have checked as many sources as I can find, including a Dean poster size picture of TFTO with no Planet Y to be found. Please check your collections of TFTO covers and look for Planet Y. It is found so far only on my original LP cover 1973 Atlantic 2 SD-908, manurfactured in Canada. It isn't on the record center labels that have the TFTO picture on them, only on the front cover. It is seen in the front panel to the left of the Mayan temple/sun at about 3/4 of an inch higher the th sun and about 3 inches to the left. It is red and has a ring around it at a sight slant. You might ask if it is a spot on the cover but it is not and upon closer viewing you can see the ring around it.
I will try to scan my copy in and attach it for viewing. Is this a Canadian cover screwup with Planet Y or what is the story behind the mysterious red planet and ring and what does it have to do with Tales..... YoEuSi (Lance)

I checked my copies (original US pressing and the 80's re-issue). No Planet Y on mine.
Could you possibly scan your cover and post it here? I'd love to see the planet Y.

I suspect a printing flaw. Its not on the 1997 reworked Tales painting either.

It's prime real estate.
Anywhere but here.
Let's purchase the planetoid, ...we'll invite Roger to terraform the surface: natural arches, coral castles, strange mushroom-like outgrowths and verdant gardens.
I foresee a gathering of good souls: Yes-banners wave in a gentle breeze...
Across the bathwater-warm sea, Yesfems and Yesgents glide over waves on antigrav-glideboards.
There's a gypsy in a calico booth who works just behind the 'Steve Howe Brown Rice and Tofu Nook' who can read your future... Your future is sweet here.
Planet Y.
I'm ready to move tomorrow.
It wont take long to pack. Just a shyt-load of YES CDs, CDRs, VCDs, my guitars, a baggie of... never mind, and a change of clothes.
I'm there.
Hey! I know a rocket scientist who could design an Orion-class starship which could get us there (Honestly!), possibly, before our eightieth birthday (spacetime is a bytch!).

It doesn't seem like a flaw in the printing. Because Planet Y has a ring around it I suspect it was added in to someones delight. Who would notice an extra dot on the cover of a Yes LP, only the person that created that Planet would. I hadn't noticed for thirty years that it existed but they would know everytime they saw that cover. We should post to Rodger Dean just to confirm that it was never in the TFTO sky. Planet Y is it real or is it just another UFO.... YoEuSIi
