Great show. Basically the same show that was described in the Atlanta thread...at least I'm guessing it was based on the description there. The show lasted about 2½ hours, after which he went to the lobby to do a meet and greet with the fans.
Tim, can we quickly ban pictures on the site before Dee posts one of me and Rick? ;)

He signed the booklet from GFTO and one fro his new cd Out of the Blue, which I bought at the show. What he's staring at in the picture, and also signed, is a small newspaper ad advertising the show.
And while I'm here I'd like to set the record straight...according to Rick. A couple weeks back Earl posted that Rick stole a cd from his Tales cd case. When I "accused" him of this treachery, he was rather interested in knowing where I came up with that. After Relaying the tale of Tales, his reaction was, and I quote "Rubbish, complete rubbish."

HAHAHA!
Well, perhaps my CD DID just fall out of it's own accord before the signing...
I love it: 'Rubbish!' I bet he enjoyed the accusation though, eh?!
Cool photos Dave!
Actually, Dave posted a photo on 'Show Your Faces' a couple of years ago (He was standing next to a cool souped-up car).
Betcha didn't know that Kathi!

[been some crazy days.. aarrggh!]
i knew he posted a pic somewhere, but i dont look much at that forum.. [prob cause it reminds me of my stupidity at not being able to post pics myself..]
it WAS kind of strange in chitown knowing people would know me by my tattoo..
for that reason, i covered it up until i knew who everybody was.
[didnt want people having an unfair advantage, ya know? ;) after all, i just blend in with the crowd.. hehe]
and as before, the voice doesnt match the face.. strange how we get pre-conceived notions what someone is going to look like..
i figured you'd be a pot-bellied, bald geek!! haha!
NOT REALLY DAVE!!
and of course, it goes without saying that
all Yes fans are beautiful from the inside out..
[and since i know you are 6' 1", i know who will be holding the banner when we finally DO see a show together!! ;) ]
and i dont care what YOU say.. i LOVE your hair, man!! it is COOL!!
let it grow
let your 'freak flag' fly..
just like earl does..
he NEVER gets in trouble for his hair, do ya earl?? lol!!

Never! Haha!
I used to get 'pulled over' by every cop who say me: this happened over and over, till I moved out of the upscale neighborhood I grew up in. It wasn't upscale when we originally moved there, but it changed... and they DID NOT like my hair!
I blend in just fine in LA: trainload of freaks here! ;)

Dave! Tell me more about Rick. He's my favorite. And you know what? I side with Earl on this one. I want to believe Wakeman tossed the cd! I would bet on it. Wait...no ... Rick wouldn't do that, would he? Well, maybe to Earl, but not to me!

Hey Gang,
Through Get Access, I was able to score a front row VIP loge seat at the Cleveland Show at The Odeon. This, of course, was after I had already purchased a General Admission ticket. Natch. D'oh. Don't ask.
So.....given that I'm spending the dough to fly from Minneapolis to Cleveland now with TWO bloody tickets ... does anybody out there want a ticket? I could wave it around there and try to sell it, but if there's anybody in Cleveland who wants a FREE ticket, I can meet you out front and its yours. My preference would be to give it away to a true fan who really wants to see the show.
Jez lemme know.
Peace
Steve :}

With Ricks sense of humor I think he's definately capable to taking someone's cd, but I doubt he would do it to a fan. He'd only take it if he could return it at a later time.
Very friendly person. He entered the lobby of the theater around 10:15, and when we left at 11:30 he was still there meeting the fans. He signed autographs, had his picture taken over and over, (even though the theater didn't allow cameras), and freely engaged in conversations with anyone who wanted to.
It was a great show too. Very funny stories, and perfect keyboard mastery. A show not to be missed if you have the opportunity.

Great to see your face, Dave! I have a question: given that most venues prohibit photography, sneaking in my Nikon 35mm might be problematic. Did you use a disposable? Is it possible to "check" your camera for the meet-n-greet?
Any ideas on getting a camera in and getting the shots?

Actually the Harrisburg theatre as well as the 1 in Atlantic City DID allow cameras, Kim called ahead to ask if they did.
But, As I understand Rick doesn't care for the flash while he's playing, it distracts him, after intermission in MD, they asked that no more flashes go off, In AC they announced no flashes, and in Harrisburg, not too many flashes went off. I try to wait and take my pictures at the end of the show so I didn't distract with my flash.
The pctures of Dave were taken with a digital camera, they didn't even do a search at the theatre.

Actually there was a sign as we entered into the theater that no cameras or recording devices were permitted inside. It was supposedly a request made by Rick...at least the sign made it sound that way. couple times when a flash went off, I was expecting Rick to say something. I could see where it would definately be annoying.
As to sneaking a camera into a concert, on several occassions I have been successful by putting it down inside my sock. I have a point and shoot 35mm that fits there rather nicely. Even when I've been checked by security they've never checked that far down. Spare film goes in the other sock.
Also, with that camera and some higher speed film, I prefer to take pictures without a flash. The flash gives me a really good picture of the heads in front of me, but quite often most of its effect wears off before it reaches the stage.

I didn't notice the sign, I do know the theater said yes on cameras, but I know that in mD rick did get upset with too many flashes going off. so I bet he did request it. As for my camera, without a flash, things get blurry, which is why I waited til the end of the show to use it.
I used to hide my small 35mm in my pants to the side, if they felt around they would be feeling over the jacket pocket, and I would pull out my phone and cigarettes to show them, that worked several times.
