Dearest Earl

It was such a joy to finally hear your music. I have such respect for artists like yourself who actually work on creating their craft. It is hard to be critical because right now all I hear is wonderful and heartfelt music gracing me on a computer in Kilgore, Texas.
But alas life's realities are calling and I will have to return and discover more.

Music a gift that gives and gives as the layers of it expound.

Hats Off to the one and only Mr. Earl Grey.

Well Earlie, I guess someone had to bump me off the New Artists list there, so I'm glad it was you!

sped- i posted the news in"gen pop"
so everyone would see it-

i hadn't seen your post here.
i also posted a heads up to ace
at ic on the new members thread.

thanks for getting earl going-
very cool. yesfans are the best!

hey- did you see that "the migration" hit #1
on the italian classical chart at besonic?

what a surprise! i love that the french,
italians germans like my pop classical stuff.
it's a trip being between beethoven
and "pachebel canon in d" on charts!

Thank you SO much for putting the songs up for me.
I couldn't (or 'wouldn't' out of lack of computer savvy) have done it myself...

Hey, it really works!

Whaddayaknow.

I have some new stuff finished and in the can: I will post some of that soon, but for now, I'm happy to have those decade-old tracks available for whomever might wish to hear or download them.

My personal gift to you all: 'Burn' and share them as you wish.
I recorded 'Lover's Ridge' to be heard: and there it is. Amazingly enough. What a time we live in.

Thanks again Richard: YOU be the man MAN!

My pleasure, Earlie-man!

But thanks have to go to kirk too, cuz he helped me discover where to upload MP3s in the first place, not to mention his encouragement about posting your tunes as well.

Thanks kirk!

And I'd like to thank my family, and my musical associates, and the folks who created the web sites, and...

Captain Kirk and Earl Grey...

Some Trekker stuff going-on here.

Anyone watch 'Enterprise' the other night?

That's one sexy Vulcan...

A BIG 'OL 'THANK YOU!' Goes out to Kirk!

Thanks bro.

How interesting, to be 'downloadable'.

It's sort-of like being part of the Gaia theory universe, where we are the interconnected cerebrum of planet earth... Nerve trunks along the way of things...

"Ah Earl... It's just a website dude! Don't get all theoretical here..."

Did I just think that, or did I say that out loud? Never mind...

that's cool earl!
i like your stuff! my wife and i listened
to it over breakfast this a.m.
"zion" was a standout,(as i'm sure you've heard).

are you familiar w/ paul drake? you might've caught
the volkswagon commercial that uses his "pink moon".
your tunes remind me a bit of his.
you should mention him and ben harper,
maybe eagle eye cherry. the kids will relate.

drop in to the ic forum, i paved the way on
the "new members" thread/music discussion,
top of the page.

o.k., who's next? Q?
let's get a full-blown music scene going!

oh yeah...i like the new look they gave t-pau on "enterprise".
she makes 7 of 9 look bad, eh?haha

Paul Drake... Oh, I thought you meant Nick Drake!
I haven't heard Paul Drake's stuff, but Ben Harper is GREAT! Love his stuff...

I don't know if I'm concerned with the 'kids' relating to my stuff any more... I still tooled around with trying to keep current back in the early 90's, but now... I don't know: there's so little modern stuff that I relate to right now...

I think the Dylan/Joni/Cockburn thing will draw the people who will relate to what I do, but then again... I don't know: I have a couple of newer tracks that sound like a cross between Stone Temple Pilots and Lennon. But even STP is old hat now! Haha!
I should just forget about staying current... The current keeps passing me by! :D

Starrship: I hope I didn't ruin your dinner man! Har!
Thanx buddy: that was a cool thing to say there.
~~~~~~~
Tonight I went to the Hard Rock Cafe to hear a friend of mine play: Renatta the 'Shred-Mistress' (I kid you not! HARHAR!).
God, but she plays like Trevor Rabin! I can hardly believe it, every time I hear her...
I mentioned this to her tonight, after the show, and she said, "What a great compliment: what, are you looking through my album collection or something?"
I'll have to find out what her website is, so you guys can check her out: It's SO cool, hearing a lovely lady play a mean guitar like that! Wow... I have to say, I'm not easily impressed (jaded man!): but she impressed the hell out of me: again!
There's some really great new music out there (Richard and ZenPool are examples of this!): but the record industry is too concerned with suing twelve-year-olds for downloading to notice right now...
Oh well...
oh man.. to much...well, everythinghaha
you know the deal.
i should know not to hit the forums like this by now.
of course, nick drake.
you have a wide appeal bud- stuff from the heart
always does.
kirk quit talking now, go bed.
I'll probably be doing this till 4:00 am.
sorry i fizzed on you bud- i'll take you up on that
round next time.
i've been running into myself trying to keep up-
i'm helping w/ production on an ink1 tune,
i put the touches on a new tune just uploaded to
ic a few minutes ago, "bleeding hearts and artists",
and i'm working on a new one (untitled)an african-based tune
somewhere between enigma and gabriel.
add to that the wife's kitchen remodel and breaking
in a new computer... :stick:
I can't even THINK of dealing with a new comp... My best thoughts are with ya man!
I haven't visited ic-musicmedia in a couple of days: have to re-check things.
I was having trouble posting my 'press' reviews there: You wouldn't happen to have any advise, as to how to get them to post: I keep recieving a 'POST NOT ACKNOWLEDGED' prompt, when I try to post them...
I have a nice review from the San Luis Obispo Tribune (Jon-land! Oh yeah!). It doesn't seem to want to go up...
I'm having a lot of fun with the site: thanks for all of your help and encouragement!
You and Richard man. All good, no... THE BEST people.
Thanks kirk. I'll buy the next round any time.
i haven't tried to post press yet, i'll look into it,
or maybe r. has some feedback.
i really should, i had ted(dylan, ringo, joe cocker)perlman
drop me a line letting me know he liked "north shore..."
that'll keep ya goin' for months!
"real world" press! very good! that's exactly the kind
o' stuff you need.
i rolled out the red carpet, introduced you on the
new members thread(music discussion, top of the page)
drop in while it's still fresh, take a bow.
we should be getting some cross-pollination here,
ace the ic administrator threw a live link to yesfans
in his reply.
a pleasant surprise this a.m.-the new choon
"bleeding hearts.." interconnected song o' the day,
"gridspace @#4 on the chart!
be talkin' at you
or maybe r. has some feedback. Well, I haven't tried to put anything there either :crybby: .
How much text are you trying to post Earlie? off the top of my head, one possibility that comes to mind is that maybe it exceeds the character limit for that field? I'm not sure where to find that info though. But if you email them, or post at the forum (called "IC Inside", it has the technical support thread) I'm sure they'll be helpful.
Cool site, Earl! Thanks for sharing your tunes with us - and keep us posted about the new stuff! If you have a new CD for sale - I'm interested!
And don't worry about staying current. What you do comes from the heart, and that's what's important. It will resonate with those it's meant to touch - your beautiful gift to the world.
Thanks, Earl
Thank you Diane!
And you too Kirk, and Richard!
A busy week this week, with the updated Yesfans softwear: it's sort-of diverted my attentions from ic-musicmedia for a couple of days: maybe you're correct about my attempting to post too much on the media reviews section Richard: I'll check it all out again on thursday (my day off from work!).
Thanks again all!
I hope to have SOMETHING new out there next year...
Now, if I could just get Chris Squire to play bass on my next project!!! ;)
And the link is still active after four years. Hooray!
Frankly, I love this album. Thank you, Earlie!!
For those who'd like to actually get their reality hands on a physical copy of his CD, here's a place that claims to actually have one copy in stock:
http://www.netsoundsmusic.com/nsudsii/2/315951893/738/2.html
A site called GEMM (Global E-commerce Mega Marketplace) also claims to have a "near mint" copy in stock for only $9.00 [you'll probably have to copy this link and paste in into your http address line . . . . !]:
