Being a relatively longtime Yes fan (first saw them in the round '79 Chicago) I've always thought that Rick brought more to the table than the other keyboardists as far as contributing to what the band was trying to accomplish musically at any given time. I've got great respect for Moraz and Igor, but Rick always just seemed to 'fit.' (Was I the only one who was shocked at how well Tom Brislin pulled off the organ solo on CTTE?)

As I am unfamiliar with most of Wakemans's solo stuff, I figured I'd pose a question to the experts:

If you were limited to say, 3 solo Wakeman releases, what would they be and why? I downloaded a piano version of 'Wonderous Stories' that was just gorgeous. I searched around but could not identify which release it was on.

Well folks, what do you say?

Well I would have to get a little sentmental and nostalgic with my picks. Here goes:The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. It was the first one I bought. No Earthly Connection.I bought this one in Ireland when I was 16.I didn't dare play it on any of the turntables I saw there so I had to wait about 2 weeks till I came back to Philly to listen to it.Lastly Criminal Record which is my personal favorite. All of side 1 has Squire & White playing.3/5 of Yes.Not bad!

1.) Criminal Record - As mentioned , side 1 w/ Squire & White is power driven , but side 2 is magical.
2.) 1984 - strong offering w/ Jon Anderson, Chaka Khan, Steve Harley & Tim Rice sharing vocals.
3.) Return to the Center of the Earth - very well produced and features some of Rick's favorites.
