I'm studying A-Level music technology, this is my first assignment (to transcribe a piece of music written pre-1980, with at least 4 parts - guitars, keys, bass + drums)
Please take a listen here (http://www.btinternet.com/~mornington/roundabout.mid) and tell me what you think (please bear in mind this is my first draft and is by no means complete!!!)
Cheers,
Matt

Sounds to me like you did a good job of it, weebl.
Those snare fills are a little tricky though. I think it's because they're the sort of thing that needs to be played live as opposed to driven from a quantized midi score? Or maybe even quantized to a different meter than the rest of the piece, something like triplets? (I'm going to get into trouble here with the wrong musical terms I'm sure...)
Is the assignment about replicating the sound of the piece/the instruments, or just creating an accurate midi transcription?

I think you did a grand job! The ending is excellent! Let us know what grade you get on it.

cheers, i'll post the proper one when it's done. i've changed the snares a bit, but i guess its quite limited what you can do in a midi file.;)
Excellent - nice to see some decent music being chosen for the project!! When I did music GCSE the students either did Boyzone songs or went drum n bass mad on cubase (I think thats how you spell it). They thought I was really wierd when playing things like Yes and Page/Plant.
