View Full Version : "the migration" new from kirk/zenpool
hey yesfans- i have a new tune posted, a pop/classical
named "the migration".
it's based on viewing an enormous flock of canadian geese
flying overhead. there must've been 200 in the formation.
i heard them coming for minutes prior to spotting them.
i hope you enjoy it (if anyone ever looks in here).

Hi kirk. I didn't see "The Migration" at either MP3 site (but it was a couple days ago).
Listened to some of your other tracks though, sounds very well done though not quite my cup of tea. Will try to go back and listen again.
s- oops! too many sites.
the migration is posted at
www.ic-musicmedia.com/zenpool(germany)
and you might give "scirocco" a listen featuring my
mate from newcastle-upon-tyne england steve hall
on the guitar.
thanks for listening!

Hey, k!
The ones I like most are:
the terrifying future
this lonely corner
the north shore of heaven
Good work.
By the way, how badly do you get spammed with your email address posted various places on the web?
I might just upload some stuff to that site. Amazon has some drawbacks, especially that it doesn't stream (and a lot of my stuff is pretty lengthy).
Did you upload your pieces at 128kbps, 192kbps or ?
s- thanks! i cover a lot of ground, so there's bound to be something.
some sites only accept 128 kbs,
some allow 192 for "premium"artists($$)
such as besonic, mp3.com,
my view is-if they want pristine mastered tunes
let 'em pay for it. the posted tunes are
samples.
i haven't had any real problem w/ spam.
hey, it's good you're jumping in. i've been following
the "our instruments" thread for several months,
(my key rig should be on page 1)and the $$ in equipment astounds me.
i have to wonder why more people from
this forum aren't collaborating, or at least covering
some yes tunes as the yestalk site does.

the only way into film/production/composing
is to be able to field a wide range of offers,
so i've dabbled in classical, newage, rock, world,
electronic.
i tried to talk earl into joining in on a cover tune
(actually riff's suggestion).
there's a lot of talent floating around here,
too bad it doesn't connect.
compatibility of software's always a problem.
i'm (as of yesterday) running sonar 3 producer edition,
sound forge 7, acid 4.0 on a p4 2.6 512
i also have some pro mastering software,
i'm mastering part time at one of the seattle area's
largest studios(see what those #1's can get ya?)
don't judge my pro work be those demos :D
you should hear those fully mastered. it makes a world
of difference.

Great stuff, Kirk. And thanks for helping me find a place to post my music!!
I'm just listening to the first song now, Gridspace. Great sounds! Very grand and atmospheric. Excited to hear more. These will definitely find their way to my MP3 player for future listening.
We have some great musicians on this site!!
thanks erdy! gridspace was one of those that came together in
an afternoon...it makes me wonder if i'm not trying too hard on the others;)
sped blavio(richard)signed up at i.c. yesterday also.
we've been sending pm's since the last post here.
i see you're from pdx! i'm still an honorary oregano
having lived in eugene for ten years.
you might also have a look at 1sound.com-
there's a large bunch of pdx'ers w/ a special
section ran by tom hale, "supportland".
tom wrote me last week and mentioned he planned to do a dedicated site.
on 1sound you'll find a review/feature of a fellow
pdx'er "little sue" on the main page.
www.1sound.com
things have been a little rocky for the 1sound site,
but it seems everything's beginning to settle.
a major investor's began pumping $$$ into the site,
so we'll see what happens.
one word of warning- they rate the tunes on a 1-4 scale.
i've done well there, but there's been some irate artists
after receiving "3"s.
i've found the streaming quality from there to be
fantastic.
let me know what name you're posting music under.
i'll give it a listen.
