These are the 2 songs from the Banks Era that have made a comeback on tour from time to time....which one do you like better?

Sweet Dreams for me. I love the "you're gonna love again" part. One of my very favorite songs from that era of Yes.
Time & a Word is as poppy as anything they've ever done, which is fine. Interesting that some fans point the finger at other Yes music as being "too pop" and this song doesn't often get that treatement. I think musicians ought to make music that sells. It's their job, not their hobby, so making hit records is a valid endeavor . . . nothing wrong with a pop tune. But somehow this song strikes me as a bit too easy listening. It's got a funny flavor to it. Like a Carpenters flavor or maybe Dionne Warwick . . . and that's just not a genre I'm fond of.
The studio version of Time & A Word is my favorite. It has a flower power feel going on that lessens the easy listening after taste.

Time & a Word
Too cool
It was really cool as part of the medley on the ABWH tour.

sweet dreams for me....hands down
I can't stand Time and Word....it would easily get my vote for the worst early yes tune.
The sentiment is nice, but I hope they never bring back the full tune in the setlist.
The excerpt from the Ladder tour was about all I can handle.

Wow, yars, you're making these "Head to Head" threads harder and harder. I love both these tunes so much (along with the rest of the album) that this has taken some time. I finally went with "Sweet Dreams" just because it's more up tempo and sounds a bit less like a philosophical observation and more like a direct encouragment, if that analogy is even remotely clear. ;)

I though Time and a Word would win this but at the moment it's 5-1 for Sweet Dreams

I'm going with "Sweet Dreams", because this one rocks. TAAW is also good, but a bit on the "dreamy" side for my taste...........

My Vote went for T&AW even though it is sappy....The melody hooks me every time. Sweet Dreams is great though!

Well, my vote is for "Sweet Dreams" - love the melody AND the lyric. TAAW has a great lyric, but I don't enjoy the melody as much.

Always enjoy your head to head polls. You've got a good feel for what's comparitively close . . . or somethin.

I try to pick songs with something in common, that seems to make it more fun...
