I get the magazine Bass Player and for a very long time there is no mention about Mr Squire, this really stinks cause he is one of the top Bass players(I think he is number one). He deserves a 3 page article about him<< come on Bass Player get with it! They did mention ina small area about the new album with Billy.

Yeah--it's strange. I remember being jazzed at having him on the cover w/ John Paul Jones back in 1994, and they certainly gave him his just due. I am amazed that there is not more coverage espacially since he has been playing his classic stuff (Ritual, Gates, The Fish) so well for the last three years. I don't think he will be truly appreciated until he is gone and I would expect a HUGE amount of mainstream bassists and musicians generally to remind of of what and who he was.

They need to get moving with a great article with him! There really is no bassist like him! I think I will write the magazine and ask for them to honor Chris. I might have to cancel my subscription. I couldn't agree with you more ctbrynjolfson. CHRIS SQUIRE ROCKS

Unfortunately, this sounds like the same old story. Yes is the band that the rock presses love to hate. It doesn't seem that anyone in the band will get their due as far as the press goes.

Until Chris changes his sound to [insert currently popular, radio homogenized variant here] kind of rock, he won't make more than mere mention in the press. I did give up my sub to Bass Player after a decade because they were covering stuff that didn't interest me and what I like didn't make their radar.

And if Chris changes to that popular crap, I'll have to move on from him too. Thank the stars he's found his calling and his groove!
