One of these days I'm going to hear Ritchie Havens do this song of his. I've only heard the YES version!

NONNEN is a great cover, but I think I like Another Day just a little bit better. But then, I've always been a big Stephen Stills nut.

I heard a short clip of the original on Amazon. Yes rocks the song all the way to high heaven, while Ritchie keeps it on the ground with his rambling acoustic guitar playing and singing.

I bet his original is pretty great.

I tried for quite a while to find it via WinMX and Kazaalite, with no success. I'm not that familiar with Richie Havens, other than his performance at Woodstock (I think that's where I saw him). His voice is right for that kind of tune, and of course it's his song, so it's probably pretty cool.

I heard the Richie Havens original on Little Steven's Underground Garage of all places. I barley recognized it. Richie's version is also quite good but I think the Yes cover version still wins out with me. Richie is a good performer though, I love his Woodstock appearance and he has a great version of Eyesight to the Blind on the Symphonic Tommy album from 1972. Richie's version of No Opportunity... is avaliable on the budget release Richie Havens 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection on MCA for those who are interested.
