I would love to see Geoff Downes in a reunion role. As far as YES, Rick fits the chemistry better than anyone, but if a keyboardist was needed, Geoff would be a GREAT choice - keyboardist, vocalist, writer . . hard to beat that !

Union 1 emerged out of discord

If there is to be a Union 2 I hope it emerges out of a desire by all involved to get together for the right reasons. Otherwise I wouldn't be too interested in it.

And of course, I'd love to see Geoff Downes as part of that.

With a union of the curentlineup with Bruford, Kaye, Downes, Birslin, and Sherwood think of the harmonies you would get as well as the jokes.

I would welcome Geoff Downes. Most of his Asia albums are a deep fall from grace to me, but he still is a courageous keyboard-player, his solo-albums proove that. Well, don't know about the writing, Asia did yome real swine-rock-albums. Would not want to have that aspect in Yes. But I think, there is enough class in Geoff to do a good job in Yes.

Greetings

Peter

I love DRAMA so much, I think there should be a 2nd DRAMA or something like that. It would be great if Chris did a proyect with Geoff (or with Geoff & T. Horn) instead of Billy Sheerwood. I bought the first CD of Conspirancy and it really sucks.

I really like Geoff's keyboard work but I really do not want to see anymore union tours.

Let's have one band of the same people for a while.

Of course this is YES so who am I kidding?

Rick who claims He is very happy and is staying put. I doubt it especially with his here today gone tomorow back again the day after that so on and so foth attitude toward yes.
Geoff would be great

If there were to be a 'Union 2' I'd second the call for an effort out of mutual desire to create an alumni project, not a managerial/label driven, Frankenstein mess. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the individual pieces that made Union but it was a case of too many people setting the controls (for the heart of the sun(rise) -ahem!) and left a less than coherent album. Fun tour for the fans!

Rabin is so essential to Yes history that he and Bruford represent the two ex-members without which a Union II wouldn't be valid ...

Downes would be nice, but not essential. Ditto any other ex-member ...

Kaye is esential His work on the yes album Time and a word and Yes as well as 90125 through talk is really needed. Downes Horn and banks would be awesome as well as Sherwood, Khorochev, and Brislin

I seriously doubt the current members will EVER play with ANY of the EX members unless one of them leaves. And as I said elsewhere, Bruford will never rejoin any permutation.

Union 2 would be awesome Bruford falls under the catgory of wakeman lets be honest who though Going for the one tormoto Keys first union and the current tour were ever and I mean ever going to happen who though tony would return to the band or Steve, or jon after drama. Yes is an odd band members come and go seemingly at random who is to say union 2 will never happen who would of thought the first one would happen

I know that all of us want Yes to go on making music together until they can't pick up a drum stick anymore, but let's just be frank here: the current lineup will probably be their last one. I don't know how many more albums Anderson Howe Squire Wakeman White will produce, but I don't think there will be any more personnel changes.

Having said that, it would be nice to actually have a Union 2 (or Re-Union, if you like) tour before they call it a day and bury the name "Yes". The chance of this ever happening is actually slimmer than J.Lo and Marc Anthony's marriage, but if it did happen, it would be nice to make it a REAL union, and not just a partial one like last time.

In other words: bury the hatchet, pick up the phone and call Peter Banks, Tony Kaye, Bill Bruford and the rest of the gang. They don't have to record a studio album, just make a big big tour involving everybody and say goodbye to the fans for the last time.

Then again, farewell concerts are as well kept as politicians' promises. Just remember Frank Sinatra or Ozzy Osbourne.

I'd like to see Geoff Downes come back, but I'm not sure what he'd add to a Union 2 album/tour.

No!! I want Rick to stay forever. It's not that I don't like Geoff, but I'llalways prefer wakeman. I think nobody can replace him, neither musically nor personally.

Since Tony (AND Igor) will probably never rejoin, Geoff is your only other keyboard player. And really, how many do you need? Rick can play anything.

14 or 15 members on stage just doesn't make sense. They would have to come out in waves...

It was quite an event to have 8 members on stage but I still prefer the Yes we have at the moment.

What do you mean?
I mean A firend of mine who is friends with chris heard that jon talked to bill about joining up possibly with yes or possibly with an ABWH reunion (with squire in conspiracy and White in his own band) I believe the former of the 2 will happen since Chris won't just leave yes after 35 years

Well speaking realistically now, I don't think any "Union 2" will happen. They have tried it before with Union 1 and were not very happy with the album. Had fun with the tour but obviously not everybody. Bill did not enjoy playing a duet with Alan, Steve was not comfortable with Trevor et cetera.

I think we should just consider ourselves lucky to have had one Union at all. The Genesis fans are still waiting for it to happen.

Steve once said "Yeah me and trevor had some slight problems but really just on how thing were approached.. I like trevor he is a good guy I've played with him before and he's quick I don't only mean fast but quick to pick up new ways of playing things" now these quotes I got from Yes in there own words so either steve is a convincing lier or this whole Steve hates Trevor is blown out of preportion and propaganda, I think if anything he hates playing someone elses solo wether it be George Harison or Trevor Rabin but Squire wants the solo the same on owner so that is the problem with owner but recently Squire hasn't seemed to mind so Steve is more comfertable with the song. so to say Steve Hates trevor I think is a slightly unfair comment. also Bill well His only problem is the rhythem section of Squire and White is so intune it is a nightmare playing precussion with them because they change the tempo so rapidly it is hard to keep up. Though he said something similar to that (can't seem to find my yes book) in 93 maybe things have changed then again who knows everyone thuoght abwh was going to carry on for few more albums and Yes (Rabin, Kaye, Squire, and White for those that don't know who I'm refering to) was going to go get a new lead singer (probably Billy Sherwood) and then they would do the thing. Yet that didn't Happen they had a union so the one thing I've learned about this band never say never and excpect the unexcpected. as for as everyone else yeah now tony and chris aren't the best of friend (a friend of squire's told me Tony Is never I reperat never going to work with chris and vice versa) but Honestly I'm sure Rick has had a few tiffs with the band and probebly his friends would of said the same thing But look now. I'm sure no one thought Steve wqould come back in 96 but hey he did same with 91 bioth him and rick said when they found out they were back in yes and it was an 8 member lineup they both were like wow that's nice it's good that we are all together." now the album Sure no one likes but isn't that a reason to do another to see what the 8 of them in a sutdio with out any other musican or producer. I know that they would wright and album that everyone would love and it would be amazing look at shock to the system live it has all 8 of them jaming happy and soloing and it sounds great. Basically i'm saying we all know that 8 of them would sound great both live and in a studioe the 8 of them know it would be every fans dream come true and that it would make a lot of money (they may have ego's but there not idiot) and we all know that wether your a tropper or westy or both (like me) you would want this.
