there are some new pieces. See the conch shell? I also have the desert painting ( brilliant colors) in the back that radiates heat when you gaze at it. There is a mirror on the table, very neat with stained glass edges and if you can see the black and white swirly mirror on the table, that one is a favorite!

different view of the table
The colors in the orbes painting are amazing. It puts off alot of energy.

like that squirty orbe, aye Martin? hahahahha. I'll bet. hahah.
I forgot to tell you all that on the table if you look there is a shot down the neck of a guitar, you can see hands playing and picking, that is courtesy of electricfreedom who gracioulsy posed for that one.
I have more from the event. The crazy musicians I so love to hear. Do a bit of rock infusion and much improvisational playing which actually comes together quite nicely.

Dances, you ARE a squirty orb!
You radiate juicy colors and creativity. Thanks for sharing!
The one with the yellow sky really caught my eye, and the Daytona picture has such a nice feel (though a tad humid maybe).

AD, very mystical, indeed! Lovely!
We have a couple of very talented young artists on this site. One of them is Vulpes Namekaw. Look for his drawings. Also, another young lady, whom, at this moment, her name isn't coming to mind.
Someone help me out here. Who is the young NYC college student who has some wonderful pen and ink drawings? Her avatar is one of her drawings, much like AD, here.
Patty. love the painting from Daytona. The colors are just gorgeous.

Hey thanks, I thought that image was pretty striking too....I can't take any credit for that one though, it was a "stock" illustration I licensed from Getty Images. I had several cover concepts in mind at the time, but in the end, that illustration just seemed better suited to the music than anything I could come up with. ;)

Hi guys
I've been off being busy getting ready for the Yesshows downunder (eight days till Melbourne) so I missed most of this thread. So in the spirit of "catch up" heres some recent work I did for a gallery show last month.
I've got more stuff at Bobs progedge page if anyone cares to look. I'll be attempting to update things over there with all my new stuff and all the missing projects but this'll give you an idea of what I do in my spare time.

ta. The background centrepiece is actually a painting of a shell from Titirangi Beach (an area I just moved in to) with abstracted hints of lanscape/bush/water behind it. The marks all over the figures body are hinting at cave paintings especially above the right eye where there are hunters chasing animals and battles being waged. The whole piece is acrylic on canvas and the detailing on the foreground figure was painted flat (4 times with a fine brush) revealing the detail as negative shapes. That alone took about two weeks.
Its a lot less conceptual than other works I've done because i intentionally wanted to extend the time of adding craft into the work, whilst at the same time not doing doing it in a necesarily illustrative manner.
Title is "Primal Symphony number seven" and my major stylistic and figurative influences during this period were Ted Mckeever, Dave Mckean and Kent Williams.
