As many of you know, I will be moving to California soon to live with my husband, Gabriel.
I will be joining a band there which he formed with his best friend, Tony Menjivar, called Bueno. They already have a CD out, and you can check out their website (which has some song samples, and the CD available for sale) at:
www.buenotheband.com
My husband has also played in the popular Latin band called Malo for 22 years. You can check them out at:

Let me know what you guys think!!

I remember MALO well from the heyday of latin rock of mid 70s. In fact, i recall having their first album. Weren't they the band that had the hit NENA?? :nono:

If I'm not mistaken, BlueEagle, theywrote and performed that totally awesome song, Suavacito.
(I never, no, no never. I never met a girl like you in my life.......)

Thanks, Flo! Nice to "see" you, too! :D
BlueEagle and Sheila, you are both correct.
A funny thing....the band I play in here in Chicago, Together, covers both of those songs!! Ha ha!! So, when my hubby was out here, and I had to play a few Together gigs, he sat in with the band, and shredded one of our guitarist's axes to bits!! LOL! Nena ROCKED!! And then he was so romantic n sweet....he was singing the words to Suavecito to me as we were playing it on stage...and he snuck in a few besitos (little kisses!) in the process!!! *sigh* :hearts:
Starrship Trooper....
I've never been happier in my life! Just wait until I'm through this awkward transition/cross-country move and settled in with my honey!! You guys may not be able to stand me, I'll be so joyful!! LOL!
Thanks for the ear, folks!

Wow, Malo!
How cool. They've been around!
"Suavecito" was "our song" back in '72 or so, with my first real girlfriend, in Jr High and High School.
Aaaahhh....
Viva La Raza! (my girlfriend was Chicana... is that term used anymore?? Me an Anglo, and this didn't sit well with some at the time, ha!)
Really brings back elephants, er I mean memories.
Our relationship began on a quasi double-date to see "Billy Jack"! ("you drove a $6000 automobile into the lake???!!!)
I was supposed to be with her friend and my friend with her, but somehow through the course of the movie she and I found ourselves poking our shoelace tips into eachother's shoelace holes, and the rest was history.

Ha ha ha!! Great story, Spedblavio! I love it!
When I was in California this past week and a half, I travelled with Malo in their tour van to L.A. for a show...those guys are hilarious!! ~The catch phrase of the journey was, "Come on'g, man'g!" (ala Scarface) LOL!

You know I love Carlos and could barely even try to sit still at his concert.....Jesucristo Mi Lindo...switching up lyrics for covers is becoming quite the trend for praise bands which many come to the open mic. night at the coffee house. King of Kings! Woo Hooo! You tell that man of yours he's got a doubly good thing going! A beautiful wife and an exceptional band. TGBTG!

Aw, gee, thanks, Dances...it's a great project I'm getting into with Bueno...and I couldn't dream of a better husband! He's an incredible musician, too!
Gabriel and I have already written a couple of tunes for the next CD, and I have contributed the lyrics to 2 more songs, also. Once I get settled in California, we will begin recording. CAN'T WAIT!!
King Of Kings and Jesucristo Mi Lindo are getting rotation airplay on The Bridge, a Christian radio station in San Francisco...excited about that....here's hoping the CD in the works will really take off!!
Peace all...
