Well I finally let my curiosity get the best of me and bought a DVD-Audio disc. I figured Magnification with the Orchestra would be a good test of the medium. I do not have a DVD-A player. Just a regular Sony DVD with 5.1 sound. I can tell you that this brought listening to music to the next level. You could actually hear different sounds, instruments and vocals coming out of each of the 6 speakers. We really felt like we were amongst the players. There was so much more to hear. You can hear so many new sounds and instruments that you just can't hear on the CD. In a word awesome. Can you imagine what the DVD-A for Fragile sounds like. Who has it?

There is a world of difference between the dvd-a of Magnification and Fragile. The Fragile disc's best attribute is the stereo soundtrack, although I do like the dts mix of HOTS.

There is a thread about both these discs, I believe in the dvd forum. Its been awhile since they have been posted on, but a search will bring them up if you'd like to see other people's opinions.

Just a tidbit of news for everyone. You don't need a DVD-A player if your DVD is compatable to DVD-A and you will now what formats it will play by looking in your owners manual. My Sony for instance plays,DVD'S,DVD-A,MP3'S, CD,S, Video CD'S and has formats for 2 channel(PCM),5.1, and DTS. It's a 5 disc changer and I have around $200.00 in it, and they are getting cheaper. My whole point is, check out the formats on the machine before buying new equipment and if you in the market for a new machine check out the formats. There's no need to run out and buy new equipment if it's not needed and I know when you read some reviews, it sorta insists that you must use certain players. This is just away for them to sell more machine and make money.I would also advise to take a DVD-A with you to make sure it plays, technology can be screwy at times, lol. By the way, Magnification sounds much better than Fragile and I agree that HOS is worth having the DVD-A. I would love hearing the Ocean and CTTE in DVD-A format.
