In the last to recent issue of Rolling Stone, the American Icon issue, there's an article on Cameron Crowe. As we all know Cameron Crowe's the one that created the Almost Famous film and wrote the preface to the booklet companion to the In a Word Box set. Once again, Cameron is talking about his adventure meeting Yes for the first time. Which will forever be frozen in time on celluiod in Almost Famous (though Yes itself doesn't appear in the film, just the music). Above the article, is a picture of Cameron Crowe, age 14, with Jon sitting on a couch backstage at the San Diego Sports arena.
Just thought I would share that.

Almost Famous...now THAT'S a great move. I've seen it...oh, say 50 times?
Next to the last issue of Rolling Stones...would be the March issue? Page?

If you see the "Almost Famous" DVD.....the extra's also
include a sort of collage of images of Crowes' life...and there
is a great shot of Cameron standing with Jon at what looks like some sound equipment.
The extras also feature some great interviews that Crowe did during his time with RS.

I'll be alright someday.

" While touring with the band for the Los Angelas Times, I attempted to talk them into speaking with me for Rolling Stone too. One by one they agreed accept for Page. I stayed on the road for three weeks red-eyed from no sleep until he finally relented... out of sympathy, I think. My mother was about ready to call the police to drag me home. Needless to say the incident shows up in a slightly different form in "Almoust Famous".
Could somebody make a scan of the photo ? I would love to see it.

That is one of my wife and I's favorite movies....we have the DVD and we watch it about 2-3 times a month, including all the special features...I wanna be Cameron Crowe in my next life...go on tour with Yes, Zeppelin, Allmans, etc as a teen...grow up & become a great Screenwriter (Fast Times at Ridgemont High is another all time favorite), marry Nancy Wilson....damn! Whatta Life!
