Let's look at ABWH a bit today...
My 2 favorite tracks from the CD ;)
Brother of Mine
VS.
Quartet

Both these are spectacular on the video of ABWH and "I'm Alive" is actually an extended/reworked version.

This was a tough choice. "Quartet" got my vote.
I love the "I'm Alive" on the "In the Big Dream" video. I finally got that version on a 45 record. That would have been a great one for the boxed set!

I agree ! The french version is also quite good.

Definitely the two best songs on ABWH. Brother of Mine gets my vote because it's in the tradition of the Yes epics.

I don't know man . . . Themes is really awesome. I think that song is the one that will out-run all the others.
These two are undeniably great though. But really they're all quite good!
This album gets slammed so often and I've never really understood why. I think it's beautiful, front to back.

My favorite track on this one is Birthright, but BOM is second so that's how I voted. Brother of Mine is a great piece.

Brother Of Mine: I'll get that one in my head, and nothing can shake it out! But I don't really mind: what a great song!
It was originally written by Steve, about his brother whom he hadn't seen in many years... Jon added the more universal lyrics to the mix.
I haven't listened to ABWH in a couple of months, now you've inspired me! :D

'Quartet' is lovely, but the chorus in 'I Wanna Learn' always bugs me: the grammer is the stuff of country/western (We haven't 'spoke' in quite a while... 'Spoke' as in a bicycle tire? Try 'Spoken' my man! ;) I know, picky picky... Picky as all hell.
But it bugs me for some reason! I know I've mentioned it before! Twice? HAR!).
'Order Of The Universe' is probably my favorite track from the album.
I LOVE 'ABWH': I wish they'd put out a second album... But, oh well!
'Union' was worth it I guess, if just for the live shows...
And 'somewhere' in Union there's a great unfinished YES West album, and THE great unfinished 2nd ABWH album.
...I sometimes feel like sending a St Bernard dog with a brandy-cask off into the Union album to retrieve the lost!

Yars... I'm REALLY enjoying your Head To Head threads. Captain my Captain! Keep 'em coming!

Brother of Mine for me
I just can't make up my mind! I'd go for Brother of Mine, but that part of Quartet with the titles of some Yessongs interspersed throughout the lyrics is an all-time favourite of mine.
I will try to choose, but this one is really tough!

Dantalion - I agree with you: the "extended" version of I'm Alive should have been included in the boxed set!
Antioch - Is there a French version of it??? I had never heard of it! Now how can I possibly get this one???

I voted for Quartet. Structurally, I think it is a beautiful piece. The second movement dances like a stone skipping across a pond and it is delightful in it's Yes references. The piece ebbs and flows and reminds me that I do want to learn more about you. It ends with those beautiful keys. Four in one, one in four, Quartet it is.
