Which Keys to Ascension Epic is your fave?

That, That Is

or Mind Drive?

"That, That Is" is more memorable to me. I can always remember parts of it in my mind.

I find it nearly impossible to remember how "Mind Drive" goes when I haven't just listened to it. But, somehow, when I'm actually listening to it I'm convinced it's the better piece.

I went with Mind Drive, but it was a close call...

Has anyone ever noticed how close some of the riffs in That, That Is are to Soundchaser? Or is it just Me?

I went with MindDrive...but in a sense it's really the lesser of two evils.
I think both songs are ambitious attempts to get back to the epic sort of YES that this line-up was once associated with.

I just don't think the parts flow in That, That is...it seemed like the stories of old...Eddie Offord in the studio taping parts of the master tape together to mix them together.
I also have a hard time with Jon's lyrics..especially about the gal being strung out on crack time etc etc.

Mind drive is a better tune IMHO, but I think they did the classic padding thing on this one and repeated parts for the sake of repitition rather than coming up with a new and inspired part or keeping the song shorter for it's own sake.

As far as songwriting goes I think there are better shorter songs on the KTA l and ll (or Keysstudio).

This has been one of the easiest up to now: Mind Drive.
It would have been a tough choice if it had been coupled with either Foot Prints or Children of Light, but although I like That, That is very much, Mind Drive is the winner.

Hey, the ever-complaining-about-tough-polls Gato has voted on two polls today without complaining at all, and has gone straight for the thing without painful, maddening prior reflection!
