While I love the music on this album...(or CD) I hadn't played it in a long time. I was in need of an Awaken the other day and decided to go the source.
I grabbed my GFTO CD and hit the car for a ride that would be long enough for the whole album.
My CD is not a remastered copy, and maybe I have been to used to newer perhaps more relaxed (to use a friendlier word) versions, but Awaken and the whole album sounded sped up to me. Like the mix was tweaked just a bit to speed up the tempos and Jon's voice seemed to be the biggest factor.
Maybe I am just going nuts? I have had tapes that fluxuate in speed but never a disc, is that even possible?
I would love to do a side by side with a remastered copy of GFTO
maybe I will have to wait for the rhino version.
GFTO and Tormato are both CDs that I love the material on, but
would love to hear better sonic quality of both.
They seem to tinny and GFTO especially seems to have this sort of over reverb/phase sort of thing going on in the mix...
Any thoughts?
