Can only choose one? Dang, this is hard. I'd probably have to say... Bill Bruford. I like his jazzy drumming in the first two albums like in Then and Every Little Thing.

Steve, of course. I love all the other guys but I connect profoundly with Steve's playing. He's really my favorite musician, not just in Yes, at this point.

Trevor will always be my favorite of course, but he was only with Yes for a short period of time. Alan is my choice over all.

One? too tough but I'd have to say simply through the use of the guitar(s) he plays, Steve. I love the sound of this instrument and he is a master.

...One?Tim,JUST ONE?!?!?!(notice Tim didn't choose ONE,people?lmaoOOOOOOOOOoooo!).Watching Yessymphonic,I was struck by the power of the 4.Steve(whom I love, whom I adore),Alan(whom I love, whom I adore),Chris(whom I...well,you get the idea by now...),Jon(love & adoration to all these gentlemen),For that matter,I was feeling pretty warm about Tom Brislin,too-nice to see that there are people on this immensely well informed site who are keeping track of him.Rick, especially since the 2002 re-re-re-union!Love & Adoration.Props to every member of this band since it's inception.Every single musician who has participated in the project has contributed to the legacy.Choosing one is against every instinct I'm aware of in my very own nature.I hesitate to say this(but since when has THAT stopped me before?lmaoooooooO...)-it's like making one choose a favorite relative! The music has begun to be passed down through the generations, the defiance of time begun by the band itself with the very music itself - such a lovely and wonderful thing-this music will outlast us all...and somehow, this makes me very, very happy. My children will tell THEIR children:"I saw this band play!"And their children will look on in disbelief as their silly, foolish old grandfather(great grandfather?lmaooOOOO-I should live so long...!no,I shouldn't....!)insists on continuing to 'air' out those songs(every instrument!lmaoOOOOOOo,I'm a gifted 'air player'!)no matter how old he's gotten(I can imagine the question-"Has he always been this way?..."...and the answer-"Yes!"...lmaoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo).Probably should've condensed this reply to the thread down to this single statement, lmaoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo:Tim?I love them all!(nyah,nyah-na-nyah,nyah!@just one!lmaoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooo)

Jon Anderson is the voice of YES.

Without those tones YES were almost lost in space. Trevor Hornes Drama particularly 'Machine Messiah' was a noble effort indeed. But even he knew that Anderson was an impossible act to follow as the front man of YES.
