This is awesome!
What can we here at Yesfans do to help support your project?
Hopefully, you can come up with some things we can all do to help you ride that crest as long as possible!!
WAY TO GO, KIRK!!

 Great job Kirk!!!! It's good to know every artist can get his music out to the general public. Wish I was as lucky to have something like this when I played. Keep it up.

Congratulations kirk!
Another possible audience for your music are body workers and their clients. I listen to lots of ambient, new age music while I'm in session and have to keep replenishing my collection for myself and my clients. There are several trade mags out there that would review your cd as it relates to massage/bodywork. And I would imagine that you could sell a ton of cd's that way.
Just a thought....
Peace,
Veronica

Congrats, Kirk,
Hey, take Rif along on the road and I can be your publicist!
veronica-that's a great idea! actually i have a lot of ambient pieces that aren't what i'd call "commercial release" material(sort of that"angel's embrace"music).i was considering releasing it under a name other than "zenpool".
a friend of mine was discussing pieces for dental offices, ect.so that would fit nicely.i wish you were closer,i've had this kink in my neck....
thoughtbecontact- that would be great.i'd love to surround myself w/yesfans. i clicked on your profile and i see you're a writer and musician.i'm still new here,i'd like to hear more about what you do. thanks for the encouragement! peace kirk/zenpool

There are an amazing amount of musicians on this site, Kirk....
....a tribute to Yes's music, methinks!
I think Veronica has a great idea there for you! (Hi, V!)
What are you considering calling the project that will contain your "other material"?

I would love to hear your angel's embrace music. The dental office music is a great idea too. It's hard to find ambient music that flows well from piece to piece that doesn't put people to sleep...although maybe they want that at the dental office!
I have the hardest time finding music for chair massage. Usually I go to the workplace, so I don't want to put them to sleep, but I need music that is both calming for them and interesting for me. A difficult task apparently.
Please let us know if you do release under another name kirk!
Peace,
Veronica

Woo Hoo! Hey, have free tickets will clap and WOO HOO you every set!
Kidding aside, way to go Kirk. Excellent. I'll go to MP3 and check it.
thanks everyone! a yes tribute eh?interesting...
i call"and you and i"! ha! too slow,joe(lol)
since there's so many midwesterners here,we could call it "yep"
or something...;)
i haven't really thought about what to name an ambient project..
maybe one of those"aura"names..any suggestions?
dances-thanks! the mp3.com site is one of the newer ones,no rankings there yet,it has fewer hits than i've had downloads in a month on mp3.com.au(australia).it's a very nice site,i plan to start promoting it more.
i started a site on besonic(germany) last week, and it seems to be taking off quickly.i checked stats last night, and my a.f.p. contribution is # 4 on the u.k.classical charts,#5 u.s.
i purposely picked a genre outside my normal one to avoid an appearance of using artists for peace for self-promotion.
i never dreamed it would take off like it has,but there i am on the classical charts between pachebel canon and beethoven.a friend wrote and said"man, you just can't loose for winning"(lol)i said"yes, for my next tune i'll be scratching my nails on the blackboard".i hope you find one you like, these are demos straight from my home studio,i've had them mastered at pacific studios for the cd.it makes a world of difference. peace kirk

band names...
I like what you said about the "Ambient Project". Concise don't ya think?
"Ethreal"
Go visual with what I think of "Aurora" as in Borealis.
either way Kirk, you will have some band making fun of your name and the places you play. Example:
10 Second Drop ( 10 Second Flop)
and so forth. Go with something you like, bounce it off the board here and see what kind of feedback you get.

Got it running now from MP3. I couldn't navigate the other site. This sounds ...uh, YES-ish...first track.
"This lonely Corner" got some FUNK going on there! Oh, yeah.
is that first lyric "Liar"? If so, cool, it's a stunner that catches you like an unexpected riff.
These sound like movie soundtracks! Northshore of Heaven...vampire movie!
Interesting.
hey dances-good suggestions.def in the right direction.i probably woundn't play out in support, there's not many venues for ambient,so i'd probably pick something that could be a company name.even my ambient stuff would have to have some dynamics,so i could get through the project.
i don't listen to the george winston,"department store at x-mas" stuff much.i'm sort of trying to combine progressive, newage, soundtrack into a "soundtrack rock".
i didn't intend to be a solo project at the start, and i'd be glad to be 1/5 of a progressive group, just hold down the keys,do some writing,back-ups.i figure if i can do this well on my own,it could nothing but improve.it's just finding people that can keep up w/me is difficult, then there's direction, ect.
i don't want to venture too far from where i am now, every tune on the e.p. has hit # 1 on some international site, some more than 1.
keep up the painting, you're very good! thanks!

>>is that anything like "elevator music"? Ha!!!!! good one here.
Well if you've got a Midas touch then keep doing what you're doing but it NEVER HURTS TO VENTURE ELSEWHERE>....speaking of.
Watercolors. I think when I was in middle school I did some serious work with them but nahhhhh. So I went to a workshop a few weeks back to actually watch technique. Ah! I said. and I kicked out a very rough one of Queenie (that is daughter re: she was Homecoming Queen so her name around here is Queenie) and it turned out, not so bad but it's a huge piece that I am trying to figure out how I will scan it. At any rate... the artist who was instructing that class has emailed me and she is doing "Plein". Do you know what "Plein" is? It's watercolors of outdoor landscapes. New word for me today. So I am meeting her down by the bay (where the watermelons grow) in April to paint yet more.
Thanks for the encouragement. Right back atcha!
dances-that's "hello out there"-the song's kind of "broadcasting to the cosmos" .do you have your computer's output going to a stereo?i did that song when i had a cold.i couldn't sing,so...
"north shore.."was written in a dark time, after a death in the family.
"gridspace"is my most "soundtracky"piece, kind of in the "blade runner" vein.that tune's done me very well,it's still in the top 10 soundtracks at broadjam,it was at no.1 newage for 40 days.no.2 i think on .au this week.it has a big bottom end,on big speakers,it's a window rattler.
it's a good start, but i'm not satisfied yet.i'm working on taking the next step.

OH...BTW: Nice cover art. Did you do it via computer? and I like the name "Gridspace". Rolls off the tongue nicely.
dances-yeah,that's kind of a scrunched version for a site.i used "cool edit 3-d".
i love watercolors, but it's been awhile since i dragged out the arches 40 weight.i have 9 college credits in watercolors,i should get into it again for therapy.
materials are all-important,don't go cheap on the paints.i don't know what's on the market now,but i used to love grumbacher.hardly any paper color showed through, the reds were great(some cheaper ones made pink)
good brushes are important,i still have a w.c.brush that i paid $30 for more years than i care to remember ago.a japanese calligraphy brush was always handy,as is a spray bottle.
just remember to keep that surface wet and alive.
thanks for the encouragement! kirk/zenpool
