Magnification was finally released in Australia a week ago - preumably the timing was supposed to coincide with the postponed tour. As with other releases it is a Special Limited Edition with extra tracks.

The extra tracks from the YesSymphonic tour are interesting in that they appear to be a different from other Limited Editions

Gates of Delirium
Starship Trooper
And You And I
In the Presence of

I can't recall seeing AYAI and Starship Trooper on other releases - is that correct?

The extra tracks on the US release were all from the Masterworks tour...Gates, Ritual and CTTE.

Extra tracks and a rerelease. Here we go again. For the ones of us who bought Symphonic, heck we can have these songs very easy. Just rip them from the DVD to a cdr., then you have your on cd of the show. Now that's what Yes should have done. Bit what do they do(maybe it's management) is nickel and dime us to death.Well, if they release Mag again here in the US with this on it. I'm one fan who will not buy it. I'm tired of being ripped off!

I don't think it's a rip off, because this album is meant for the Australian market. Don't forget Maginification was not released there before. I think the Australians got a nice album, and classic tunes like ST and AYAI could attract old fans and introduce them to the wonderfull new songs of Maginification. I hope it will sell.

Ok Bred, I will stand corrected if Magnification wasn't released in Australia. But that seems weird as hell, of cource what Yes management has been doing lately it wouldn't surpize me to release an album 14 months later. But I will still stand by my stand on these rereleases thats going on. The(Yes fans) are being ripped off!

I'm sure that what Yessongs72 was complaining about here was the bandit with the shotgun that YES's management sent to his front door, demanding he buy this expanded release of MAG 'Or Else!'

;) Yessongs72: you need to get a 'peek-hole' for your door man! :ele:

Magnification hadn't been released before in Australia - I don't know the exact reason but there were some contractual problems.

I am happy with what they have done - by releasing an edition that may be unavailable elsewhere gives added incentive to purchase. I don't think anyone here, Yessongs 72, feels ripped off by the arrangement. And as most of you know, the AYAI arrangement from Yes Symphonic is sublime and it is almost worth having this just to get that alone.

Ok, I did ass/u/me that Mag was just being rereleased again. Over here in the US they released three versions. That was my complaint, each having one addtional song from Masterworks tour. One was with Gates, the other with Ritual,a nd then other CTTE. So that was buying three cds to get three songs. I must say what the Aussies are getting is a better deal. I wonder how they would feel having to buy 4 cds to get the collection of songs. AYAI is awesome on Symphonic on the DVD, just like all of the show, well except Owner, lol Steve really get's into it! I'm glad that I ripped the audio from the dvd and made me a cd of Symphonic, another Yes management blunder. And the list goes on.

I'm glad I have an audio burn of Symphonic and the Holmdel show. I still only need one MAGNIFICATION.

I bought the Australian edition today, and am very happy with it.

It's got a slightly different cover too.

How is the cover different?

I heard (from Bob Cesca) that there was originally going to be a futuristic woman's face superimposed over the starfields, but it was left-off due to a complaint by Jon. It appearently looked too much like the androids from the film 'AI', which was hitting the theatres at the time of release...

Did they put the 'android face' back on the cover? Just wondering here...

The cover has the brown surface of a planet in the lower third and perched on it is a large machine that presumably is the 'Interdimensional Reality Machine' mentioned inside. This is set on the purple background of the US Magnification cover. much better cover IMO.

The new Saturn Pics from JPL would make a fine cover!

Damn. I think the rings of Saturn are actually a platinum record, given to YES, by the universe collectively...
