Yes hit the BBC last night. On Never Mind The Buzzcocks ( anarchic music/comedy quiz show for those who haven't seen it ) the host told a Yes joke.
Apparently in the very early days the band used to rehearse in a room above a brothel. They began to realise they were getting better when the customers downstairs started to shout the band's name.
Crap joke but any publicity eh?

I remember reading somewhere that Fragile, and particulary Roundabout, was recorded in a room above a brothel. I thought it was the first rehearsal with Rick Wakeman. I thought it was mentioned in Chis Welch's book.

This wasn't a Yes joke, but...in the first Austin Powers movie, Dr. Evil wants to build an experimantal space station or something, and he thinks he'll call it "the Alan Parsons Project." A friend of mine saw the movie in the theater and said he was the only one who laughed at the joke. Guess he was the only one there who got it. Sometimes great things get overlooked.
Sorry for intruding. Just thought I'd add that one.

I love how Rick tells the story of the brothel; "We all noticed a lot of ladies walking around with big smiles all the time and they were always wearing fur coats, even in the middle of summer. I put two and two together pretty fast... Its hard to say who made more noise, us or them!" :lmao:
