Brovo Chris for that bass. This is the yes driving tune. Don't Kill the Whale comes a close second. The feel and musical style set this one apart from all the others

Welcome to da Forum!!!
I think OTSWOF is the very most tastiest track on this very underrated album. I love the live versions circulating around with MADRIGAL used as an intro for it. I'm glad I got to see the MADRIGAL/SILENT WINGS sequence twice in 1978. Gotta love Chris!!!!

allow me to welcome you to the site, too, jcraig! it's great to 'see' new people on here.
yep-chris IS the MAN-no doubt about it.
i hit three yesshows this year, and everytime dont kill the whale was played, the crowd WENT NUTS! it reminded me of a metallica show with all the heads a-bobbin! did my heart good to see bald ones, young ones, short ones, etc.. EVERYBODY in the whole place [at 3 different venues] was really into it! even the bouncers who'd never heard of them!!

Silent wings is indeed an excellent choon. Anybody know anything more about how he got the "Gwah" sound?
I thought it was a wah pedal but have since been told this isn't the case.
All possible thoughts greatly appreciated!

Chirs used a harmoniser to get to the different tones of the song. He used it on Don't Kill The Whale and others.
