http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRffqvs5VQw

Benoit is a "Don Cherry" real Canadian boy.

Best of luck Benoit, and please talk the other band members into

coming back to Canada in 2010 , (preferably Hamilton).

Very good interview.

But you know, this interview just proves that he is deserving of all the hate being spewed at him from some on this site and all the insulting comments made to Steve, Chris, and Alan.

Lucky Oliver has the last name "Wakeman" or who knows how much guff he would be taking.

Benoit is a good dude. Anderson has recognized this as well.

Sounds like you may have seen a different interview if you really believe that. I thought he was a class act.

So do I. But I am reading that Shifty is being sarcastic.

Who, me?

I've learned that I can only handle insane situations by acting equally insane....or more.

You're right of course.

Nah, the problem I have is that he's a frenchie from Canada. Probably a no good seperatist to boot.

Are you serious? Your problem is that he is a Quebecer? Is'nt that called racism? Jezzz !!!

What do his political views have do do with his signing abilities? Do you think Celine Dion is a federalist? She sings at the St-Jean Baptiste(quebec's national day).... And she also is a frenchie! Anyways...Everyone has a right to his/her opinion....But this ''frenchie'' (me) is sadened to read things like this on this site....

Oh oh.....not sure that Yesfans even know about this separatist situation here in Québec...much out of context from this interview...

Great interview anyway...althought quite old..
I'd wish to interview him again today..Things have changed a lot since ....We'll be happy to see him on a new album with Yes...Nous sommes du soleil...

It is quite old. In fact, I think it was conducted before they ever went out on tour. I would be interested to hear what he has to say now.

Excellent interview: smart questions, honest answers. Benoit seems like a nice, sensible fellow.

I agree that it would be interesting to see what he thinks after having done the gig for a while. I'm sure we'll hear about that at some point as well.

Yes, the interview it was taped just before the "In the Present " tour,

just prior to opening night in Hamilton Canada. The interviewer Jian

Ghomshi is a former musician himself and no slouch

I spoke to him very briefly in Edinburgh the other night and I got a massive first impression of a seriosly good person. Not only that, he nailed the performance and convinced me he's a worthy front man.
