That Mr David belonged too. Did they just fade away?

Not entirely sure .. I think they're taking a backseat to Yes and Mystery.

Well, as of last spring, they were still viable.
Saw them in Montreal . . .

Excellent question, though.

Funny ... not.

I agree, my vote will also be "not funny."

True, but not funny.

Wakeman doesn’t talk about the band with son Oliver, who’s replaced him on keys. “I got him the job, as it happens,” he explains, “But we don’t discuss it at all. I don’t have any respect for the current tribute band that’s out there.

You can quote the grumpy git all you like. He's wrong, and so are you.

I recently saw two other "tribute" - as you would describe them - bands, Focus and Wishbone Ash, and had a bloody good time. And I'm seeing them again tomorrow night. And I'm looking forward to seeing Yes on the 23rd Nov.

If you can't get past this then more fool you. You're missing out.

I must admit I'm rapidly getting to the point of thinking who gives a toss about what Rick thinks about the current line-up.

So he doesn't respect them.

So what?

Does it matter?

it makes it less likely for him to do one off appearances as rumoured

Now that the glass ceiling has been shattered between tribute bands and the bands to which they pay tribute, the rumor is that they will all be joining Yes one by one until, eventually, they actually ARE Yes.

Wakeman's comments interest me mainly because we know he maintains a fairly close friendship with Jon Anderson and has, undoubtedly, has conversations with Anderson about the Yes situation. In the absence of a recent statement from Anderson, himself, this is sort of the next best thing because it's a pretty safe bet that Anderson's feelings mirror Wakeman's feelings. Otherwise I doubt Wakeman wouldn't have spoken out quite so forcefully. He's sticking up for a friend who feels wronged. What was Squire saying the other day about the band having Jon's "blessing" again? I very much doubt this is the case.

You definitely have a point there. Being in a tribute band I think I have a "say-so" as it were. I think people are in two camps....Camp 1: Would watch Yes play their music no matter what or who is in the band.
Camp 2: Want to see the classic line up an hear them play the classic songs. The fact that a tribute singer is in the line-up just rubs salt in the wound. Some people just dont rate tributes.....but saying that......Last week a guy came to talk to me after our gig and told me that he enjoyed us better than any recent yes concerts he's been to! So everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

The real answer is.... They are all working on other music project while Benoît is working with Yes and Mystery....

They will hopefully do some gig next year if they can find some available schedule with Benoît...
