Sharp on Attack

Hello friends, I've been listening again to the Ladder and really enjoyed it. But something dawned on me when listening to Lightning Strikes. That lightningfast (:Wow:) bass solo in the middle
that has impressed me so much ever since I heard it, well it doesn't sound like Chris after all. Could it be Billy ? Input welcome.

Check out the House of Blues DVD Chris is playing live. In the stuidio who knows? It always reminded me of a bass parts of one of the tunes off Paul Simons brillant Graceland album

Sounds like a rickenbacker to me... I would say it's squire.
Everytime I hear that part I get a vision of someone running barefoot across hot sand at the beach.

To me it doesn't sound like his "typical style" but our Chris is full of surprises. I think it the genius Mr. Squire.

Its Chris...not as hard to do as it sounds. It's a variation on that lick that Steve plays in the middle of the solo on I've Seen All Good People. Maybe Stevie coached him!

It's coming up with the cool bass moment that counts!:rightG:
I like the song, especially how it is different... and the bass work is excellent...

Hey Everyone,
I'm kinda late on this topic, but for those who don't know, Chris does a very similar but somewhat lengthier bass solo on Chris & Billy's Conspiracy Live DVD. The solo is on "New World". If you have not seen this DVD, it rocks.

I love that bit! Chris Squire nailed it to the floor on The Ladder Tour at F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre, PA
I was anxious leading up to that bass run in Lightening Strikes waiting to see what Chris did. Squire & Co. did not disappoint. The crowd was totally into it. Philly got even better.
