this album is ok
i like the majority of tracks
but does any one know if there are extra tracks that did not make the mix that exist at all ?
The only 'track that did not make it' I am aware of is 'Promenade', a short guitar solo by Rabin, which was not put on BG, but later appeared on his '90124' demos compilation. It is a cover from 'Pictures at an Exhibition' I believe.

"Promenade" is the first movement of Pictures at an Exhibition.

I have not heard them myself, but apparently there's an earlier "version" of BG making the rounds that supposedly sounds quite different from what was actually released? Same songs but different takes? Am I understanding this correctly?

There's a boot out there called "The Alternate Generator". Do you mean that one? It contains early versions of BG.

I'm Running has a different intro - I think with animal SFX? Some different words, too. I also have Final Eyes somewhere, but I don't remember what's different about it.

Someone on PE posted that he heard a very early demo version of what later became "I'm Running" with Steve Howe playing guitar. Can anybody confirm or deny the existence of the recording?

Unless Chris came up with the riff which Trevor built the song around before the sessions for BG, I don't see how that's possible.

Trevor's original demo has different lyrics, but the same refrain.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Seems like I read somewhere that the Alternate Generator mixes where Trevor Horn's original mixes, but I could be mistaken.

There were also their cover versions of Take My Breath Away, Living on a Prayer, Circle in the Sand and the full Yes version of State of Independance with distorted bass solo. Apparently the Boys of Summer cover didn't happen because it was too tricky to learn and stuff.

I assume the recording, if it exists, was likely from somewhere around or shortly after Drama. Historically speaking, Squire might not be a very prolific songwriter, but he doesn't seem to let many, if any, ideas go to waste. I've never seen the footage myself, but I heard that the bass riff from "Bring Me To The Power" appeared for the first time on some sort of bass instruction video that he did a number of years before the KTA sessions. Then there's "Can You Imagine" from the XYZ sessions finally turning up of Magnification. It wouldn't be all that surprising or unprecedented if the idea for "I'm Running" had been kicked around behind the scenes for awhile.
By the way, did anyone else, on hearing the song for the first time think that it was about some guy named "Jack Miranda" like I did?

He did do a Star Licks video after Big Gen, I believe, so that's probably where it came from, then. And the other is entirely possible, not to discount it, I was just going by Trevor's comments regarding how the song came to be written originally. It doesn't appear the other demo, if in fact it exists, was used. Chris kept playing the opening bass riff till Trevor wrote the progression which followed.
