A very small Yesfans Convention...it was a dinner in Venice! ;)
We had a great time and ate yummy Greek food:
appetizer: bread with aubergine (eggplant) cream and with hummus, falafels, 1 vegetable skewer kebab and 1 meatball that wasn't made with meat (like a flat falafel)
brown basmati (?) rice with sweet chicken and cinnamon (cooked with honey), it has also caramellized onions
sweet red wine (for me), and prosecco (for Igor): "a toast to Steve, and also to the other 4"
decaf espresso (for me), espresso (for Igor)
freebies: cinnamon liqueur, so yummy and recommended! ("anoher toast to Steve!")

P.S. the picture of Igor doesn't load for me.

Well, Elena reported an accurate and true review about our meeting last night in Venice.. Our evening together was perfect and we discovered we have lots of things in common (beside YES, of course.. :xolicon42: ), so our conversations were stimulating and we began to make the acquaintance of each other in the most pleasant way!

The restaurant she chose for our first meeting was great: it's called "Frary's" and serves greek and medioriental dishes that I liked so much! After dinner (and related conversations about Yes and prog music in general :appl[1]: ) we walked through the narrow streets in Venice and I took the chance to lead her to the hotel I am working at, Locanda Orseolo (www.locandaorseolo.com (http://www.locandaorseolo.com)): the picture you may see here above was taken by my friend and colleague Cristiano, the night porter, and features us right at the water-entrance facing the Canal Orseolo.

Elena is absolutely great, a smart and nice girl with whom you may talk for hours about everything without getting annoyed: surely we will keep in touch considering that there is not that demersal distance between our locations!

thank you! it's the hotel he works at, everything is red brocade, painted decorated wood (old wood, not "freshly painted"), low ceilings....gorgeous rooms too, I visited the hotel. It well deserves its expensive price, it's sooo beautiful! (And I love decorating too...my dream house would be "Venetian renaissance, with a little castle-like touches"!

It doesn't get better than YES and Venice!

Certainly better than Yesheads on Venus (A pretty caustic atmosphere on the 2nd rock from the sun!).

Did you Gondola anywhere?

Last time I was there, I was 5 years old. I remember it, but from the perspective of 2 and 1/2 feet hight!

Fun photos, glad you two had fun!

Yesfans are the best.

Thank you, Earl!
No, no gondola....no time, Igor had to take a train at quarter past midnight. (and he didn't accompany me home...oh well...)
Food was delicious! Should anybody come here, I deeply recommend Frary's restaurant!

Wonderful interview Elena. Extremely useful tips there. I love what Steve had to say about holding back, and not always ripping through everything.

Steve is very zen in his technique.

Love it.

How wonderful for the two of you to meet! Even if it doesn't turn into romance, it's always nice to have a friend nearby with similar tastes in music and other hobbies.

I used to wonder if I would ever meet my special "Yes Man" (or other favorite band "man"... LOL), but now I'm "past it". Oh well... here's to Youth and to Love! *toasting with imaginary wineglass*
