They all feature the best lead singer on the planet, but then again so did all but one... I'll keep thinking! ;-)

Relayer

They each have a word in their titles that begins and ends with the same letter...
R in Relayer
G in Going
E in Edge
As far as I can tell none of the other Yes album titles have this feature.
I know,I should get out more.

Oh, that's clever! And they also have the same guitarrist, singer, drummer and bassplayer.

Well, I was fishing around Wikipedia, and found THIS statement . . .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Close_to_the_Edge
Close to the Edge set a trend for Yes of structuring an album around a single epic song, significantly longer than the album's other tracks. Here the centerpiece is the song "Close to the Edge". Later Yes albums that follow a similar pattern are Relayer (which features "The Gates of Delirium") and Going for the One (which features "Awaken").
So, is that the similarity you were looking for, Brian?

They each have songs based on a best selling book:
Close to the Edge - Siddhartha
Relayer - War and Peace (Gates of Delirium)
Going for the One - The Singer (Awaken)
But then, isn't Starship Trooper based on the Heinlein book?
Dang, this is tough.

erm, both have 4 words in the title, with 'the definite article' being the 3rd in each case?
both produced/engineered by Eddie Offord?
c'mon, you're teasing us!

On the Silent Wings of Freedom has a middle soft section. So does The Ancient.
What do you say we just block BrianD from the site.
You'll all have to wait for the answer it's only 3 am in Australia at the moment.
Which gives me time to get out the 3 albums in question and have a look!!

...and then you notice and try to edit, then, yep, then your connection doesn't allow you to...

Now folks you have got to remember that this trivia came to me while driving home listening to Yes
Anyway the answer is that Relayer, CTTE and GFTO are the only 3 Yes albums for which there are official live releases - either CD or DVD - of versions of songs from the entire album. Not altogether mind you but scattered over their library.
Fragile comes close - but no Cans & Brahms or 5% for nothing. Of course The Yes Album is sunk by no A Venture.

I have a question. Isn't there an official live release of Hearts (I Know I saw them play it at the HOB)? If so, then 90125 would fit the answer.

Neither Hearts nor Our Song have featured on an official live Yes release

so you are talking about a live version of an album song that's been released on another recording, right...
otherwise our song has been relaease again - as a b side to owner of a lonely heart.....
but hearts hasnt'
R
this was a good puzzle...
i was looking up the album catalogue numbers and then taking their square roots to see if they made a magical formula or something....
it gave me a headache...

Thats right Raz - live versions of the album songs
Square roots would certainly give most people a headache

Actually, I was surprised that Hearts wasn't on the House of Yes DVD. It was one of the better performances from the Orlando House of Blues show (when Billy Sherwood starting singing the lead vocals, nearly everyone on the audience kept looking at Jon, who finally started pointing stage left at Billy).

Hearts is a Yes classic - possibly better with two vocalists - but Jon did a great version alone on his Change we must album.
I'm surprised that they haven't featured it on any of their output

I would have never guessed that.
