Escala's eponymous debut album, produced and partly performed by Trevor Horn, entered the UK chart at #2 on Sunday, with their signature piece "Palladio" (written by ex-Soft Machine member Karl Jenkins) at #39 in the singles chart. Both are also in the Irish chart.

I've listened to the album on Spotify. It's... OK. Populist, as you'd expect. I doubt Horn views this as a great artistic work! But it will massively outsell nearly every other album that gets discussed around here, and I think that gives an interesting perspective.

They are now called Us. I haven't seen a release date, but there have been indications that it won't be too much longer.

the materiall is good - seems a long and painful road to get it released though
