I've just received the Songs from Tsongas 35th anniversary DVD, I'm really excited about seeing it, anyone wish to comment on this concert? :dnce:

It has a few overdubs I'm not happy about, but it represents a very fine addition to that period of Yes.

Loved it, particularly Mind Drive (though I wish they hadn't split it in two), the acoustic set and Every Little Thing (because they'd dropped it from the set by the time they got to the UK).

Always enjoy any set that's got YIND in it.

I agree with Meng, its a great set, from a really good Yes tour. I also was disappointed to miss Every Little Thing, although I thought Sweet Dreams was a fine newcomer to the set list (its also on Tsongas). Hadn't heard Sweet Dreams live since QPR 75. And Steve's guitar effects in YIND was a stomping way to finish the first set. Great show, possibly one of the best....

They absolutely had to overdub at the start of And You And I. Rick's keys overheated and crapped out at the start of the song.

I think it's a good concert DVD.....good setlist. One would never know how hot it was at the Tsongas arena that night by watching the DVD.

BTW, I'm in it!

When Jon goes into the audience, he comes down the stairs and goes to his right. Shameless and I were on the very end of that front row. You have to pay attention, we're only shown for a split second.

Jon running into the crowd is one of the most defining moments of "dad rock" I've ever seen commited to dvd. Sorry, I laughed out loud. :D

Pretty good overall though.

I think they did a good job on Every Little Thing, but for me I miss all the little nuances that Peter Banks threw into this song. Chris still nailed that aggressive bassline though.

Nice one! I was in the audience for the Birmingham show on the Director's Cut DVD, but I haven't spotted myself.

Not yet anyway!

I made a Poster of ...YES in a Heart... and a bunch of Copies We handed out to the Front Row for the Encore..
You see me with my poster at the End of the 1st Dvd..after the song is over.

I was there too. It was really hot because of a lack of air conditioning. I must say that I'm in the DVD as well.

...when the camera pans the audience. I'm, uh, let me see, about 37 seats in and 23 up on the left. They show me and my friend a lot! We're the heavy set (I'm being kind), white, middle aged men who can't dance. OK, now you see us, right? Yeah, clearly we stick out in this crowd.

...one or two times you can see us smokin' a spleef. I'd say about mid-way to 2/3 the way into the concert. Again, can't miss us. Yeah, you got it, I'm the one with the combo Big Generator/ Tales From Topographic Oceans shirt on. Yeah, the one with the 90125 logo on the sleeve and the Relayer snake down the arms.

Mmmm? Wonder if that was a bootleg tee?

Just jokin.

Good show, but I do remember Wakeman's challenges with the keyboard on AYAI. I just figured he hit the "Ritual climax" preset on his keyboard.

My only problem with the DVD, was the same one I had with the show I saw in Tampa from that tour. The mix was very Jon until they started the acoustic portion of the show. My wife says my ear for music is a little too good and that it keeps me from enjoying it as much as I should, but that's just me. Once you get past the first couple of songs the mix evens out and you can appreciate all the pieces of the band. The House of Yes was no complaints for me, mixing wise. Alan seemed a little faster on the time calls in H of Y too.

My favorite. I was at the MSG gig just before they went up to Boston to record this. That was the show where we stopped 'em cold near the end of AYAI, a moment I'll never forget. I'm particularly fond of the opening of the acoustic set with "The Meeting." Rick is as great as ever.

It was so frigan hot in that palce that night.... But it was a great last minute addition to that 6 week adventure accross the country  I'm hoping it wasn't the last gasp of a great band :Wow:
