for the life of me i can't understand why YES did not include any of the union tour on this release

what do you think ??

You know, you are right. I never thought about it, but they definitely should have.

Would have been nice to get some "Talk Tour" stuff, too.

I heard that a lot of the band members aren't too keen on this album so maybe that's why.. Although looking at the tracklisting, it seems to be mostly older stuff so given the tracklengths there probably wasn't enough space!

It's a bit of a shame for me cos I kinda like this album! A lot... ^_^;

Actually, I think it has to do with the songs that Rhino has the rights to...I believe that they only have the rights to the songs from Atlantic/Atco years, which are from 1969-1987...Union was on Arista recorsa (as was ABWH)

They may not have liked the album, but a number of them have said how much they enjoyed the tour, that it was a really positive and enjoyable experience. So it's unlikely that any feelings about the album kept live tracks from that period from appearing on TWIL.

I should add that YIND and Awaken were stunning on this tour. I would love to see a Union tour live release - especially a dvd since there are several pro-shot films.
