He seems to have been present at the Clearwater, Florida gig on December 15th.
Invited or only in attendance: don't know.
Here's a picture (notice the absence of Howe & Squire):

Your not suggesting there were any "hard" feelings when they parted company are you?
I always wrote that one down as an "Anderson" decision.

Thanks for the photo - I'll always have a lot of respect of MORAZ - he burned up Relayer.

I always have enjoyed Moraz, both during his time with Yes, and solo. I got to meet him once at a small piano concert, and he was a very nice man . . . :D

I don't think he'd be turning up at so many concerts over the years if there were hard feelings... Moraz has said publicly on more than one occasion that Yes are his favorite band... I will have to keep an eye out for him at future shows, because I always seem to miss him!

That's a shame, why wouldn't they have asked him to fill in for Rick, I wonder...

a number of us were hoping that would happen when Rick bailed back in '96... hoped that again for the Summer '08 tour, but figured it would not happen...

Maybe they are hanging out because of a 2009 idea/surprise...
Or maybe he's just a fan... It is good to see the Relayer musicians are hanging out with the In The Present formation...
Double keys?? Some Relayer?? Ahhhh, the possibilities :headset:

I think Steve and Chris both had a long line of people wanting autographs to deal with.

Wow, talk about Forever Young! I don't think Patrick Moraz has aged much over the years.... It's so very nice to see him still interested in Yes. It would be really cool to have him back when Rick can't do it. I feel especially bad for him the way things turned out with the Moody Blues. He got a really dirty deal out of all of that, and added many more years of life to that band! Also really cool of him to pose with the newcomers, Oliver and Benoit....
Thanks for posting that pic. I guess we could say that you were being a 'Relayer'???

I wasn't aware of this. Unbelievable to see Moraz at a YES concert and not invite him on stage...That would have been so cool.

I heard a quote, which should be taken with a grain of salt that, "Anderson didn't want anyone in the band more far-out than himself."
I always wished Moraz played on more Yes stuff because I liked his spacey jazz style.
I know he had a few rocky years, but hopefully all is cool now. He looks good.

That's it. I'm demanding a:
Moraz (keyboards)
Banks (guitars)
Rabin (vocals, guitars, keys,)
Bruford (battery)
Levin (bass, stick)
Horn (Producer, vocals, bass)
supergroup.

I changed it up just a little after you quoted me. The band does need a lead singer though because I'm not sure I want Rabin as lead singer per se. That's why Banks is in there. I wanted to overlap in various areas like keys, guitars and vocals. Horn and Rabin overlapping as vocalist might not cut it, in leui of a lead singer.
This group would consist of people not currently in Yes or Circa: I had Billy in there, but he already has his band.

Moraz should be in the Chin Cleft Hall of Fame for sure.
That should be the name of the band.
"The C-Cleft's"
Their first album will be called. "Keep Your Chin Up" An homage to the many who've probably done battle within Yes, but ultimately were asked to leave, or left unhappy.
Their first single, "Taking It On"
Followed by the instrumental "Chin Music."
Rounded out nicely by the breathtaking "Chinese Phonebook"

He's there because they owe him some money. I heard he goes in their dressing rooms and takes all but two shrimp off the platters just to remind them he's still waiting. A dangerous man.

Yes doesn't really do the type of music where you could just have a guy like Patrick come up on stage and sit in for a song or two, unfortunately. Would have been cool to see, though.
My impression is that by '76 the other guys felt that Patrick didn't fit in very well with the Yes style. I thought he was fantastic on Relayer, but you can hear from the live recordings that his take on some of the older Yes pieces on tour was a little "out there." I think there may have been some question of him not fitting in well because of cultural differences.
He might be the most talented of all the Yes keyboardists, though. Certainly he's my favorite, as a jazz-rock player and fan myself.

RELAYER is by far my favorite YES album. I saw YES play in Long Beach CA. on that tour and it was a life changing moment for me. I would love to see Patrick Moraz do some more music with YES. His style was very alive and intense.
I would love to see what this line-up could produce,
Chris Squire
Jon Anderson
Bill Bruford
Patrick Moraz
Trevor Rabin
The idea just makes me wonder of what could be.

At his home, he has a swimming pool full of monoxidil. His sphynx fell in the pool, these are the before and afters.

Thanks for the photo. I wouldn't read anything into the fact that Steve and Chris weren't there. Alan, Benoit and Oliver seem to be the ones to more receptive to fan interaction at the post shows.
It would probably be more shocking to see Moraz at a Moody Blues show given the way he was treated by them.

IŽd love to see Moraz playing with Yes. He did a tremendous job in that amazing Relayer, also wouldnŽt kill anybody if invited him to step up on stage and play a little bit.
Thanks for this great pic.

I was rather thinking that Steve was already at the bar drinking his daily dose of pints and that Chris was looking for some fine piece of carrot to chew on ... of was it the opposite ? :winknudge

Yeah, and one of his hands was missing after Chris shook his hands at last. That explains all. :sofunny:

That's really the lineup to cover all bases and if inspired could put out a "monster." I often add Trevor Horn as the producer, and sometimes throw Howe in (yes, with Rabin) just to get full coverage everywhere.
