This is something that's been inside of my head ever since I discovered this song, and I'm wondering what the consensus is on it.

The studio version of AYAI is great. There are also, as we know many tremendous live versions as well.

There is one thing that I have noticed when AYAI has been performed (with Jon singing)

On the studio version, at the 3:23 mark, (the first reading of the chorus), "And You And I climb over the sea..."

On hearing this song live on many weeds and hearing it live in person over a dozen times, it seems that Jon never sings that first refrain with the same feel. On the studio version he sings it as: "And you AND I climb..."

It's hard to type the sound I'm hearing but I'm sure you know what I mean. I guess what I'm saying is that the lines should be sung with more bounce in them and not flat. And you can clearly hear Chris repeating the same lines in the background, following the same style as Jon. Listening to the studio version is like being on Cloud 9 sometimes.

To further prove my point, take a listen to some Drama shows. Trevor Horn sings it the same exact way on that section. Even Benoit sang it the same way. As early as Yessongs, when it came to that part Jon sang it kind of flat. Now, don't get me wrong, Yes still plays this song beautifully, to this day, especially when you get to the "Preacher" and "Apocalypse" sections.

I know I'm nit picking here, but this has been one of these things that I cannot get out of my head whenever I hear this live, and was very happy to hear Benoit sing it as presented on the original album.

If you're still confused just go to the section (3:23) in the song I'm referring to and I guarantee you will understand what I mean.

Curious to see if anyone shares the same view, although I doubt it. (:
