Hello!!
this is my first post into this group! And it's about a BRILLIANT concert by Bill Bruford's Earthworks here in Santiago, Chile. Saxophonist Tim Garland, pianist Steve Hamilton, bassist Mark Hodgson and GRAND MASTER Bill Bruford gave a masterclass about how to play their instruments better than nobody else... Earthworks did a lot of new tunes, new compositions by Tim Garland, some of the newer Earthworks stuff from the 'Sound of Surprise' CD and a HUGE surprise!! a couple of old tunes from the "BRUFORD" band (Bruford, Dave Stewart, Jeff Berlin & Allan Holdsworth): One of a Kind and Beelzebub!!!!!!!!! there was another one from those days, but I can't remember which one, I'm not toooooooo familiar with the first Bruford records, I only have the Bruford Tapes and Master Strokes.

As far as I know, the concert was videotaped, and I'll try to get it, if there is anyone interested in a trade, just let me know at tony@subterra.org. You are also invited to visit my website http://claudio.isgenius.com I haven't had time to update it, but soon the normal frequency of updates (2 or 3 in a month) will be resumed.

Thank you!!

Claudio, from Chile

Welcome aboard Claudio!!!
Margit mentioned about the concert being recorded, do you happen to know who did it?? We taped the whole concert in Sao Paulo last thursday, just making some audio adjustments stuff.
Let's keep our fingers crossed to have YES down here in South America next year.

Hello Omar!
as far as I know, the concert was videotaped by a local music cable-tv station called Via X, and we'll try to get the tapes directly from the tv station, I'll tell you when I have news about it :)

Well, speaking of Yes, I don't have very good rememberings about their last visit to southamerica... they cancelled the show In Chile for the Ladder tour in 1999 :( I think a tour in southamerica with this line up might be a HUGE LOT succesful!!! I think EVERYONE wants to see Yes with Wakeman here :)

And, at last but not least, thank you very much for the welcome :)

talk to all of you soon

greetings!

Claudio

I did not get more autographs than what we got that night.. I'll have the pictures posted next week. We were not lucky with master Bill yesterday, we went to the hotel at midday and the whole band had left the hotel one hour before..they went skiing.. we arrived late:crybby:
Donovan (whom I expect to be at the forum soon) arrived on time and had his old vinyl records signed...
With regard to Yes coming again to Latin America, I believe they should, since 3 years ago we were left with the tickets in our hands and we had to reinburse them...oh, that was so sad!...but that was a political problem, since we were living a complex situation with Pinochet's stay in England, and the English bands were advised not to come to our country in order to avoid problems....
YES, please, come back, come back;)
