I was surfing the tube last night and went past our local cable news broadcast (NECN for you New Englanders). It was something about this old woman's garden. But I had to go back to it because of the music they were playing in the background. It took maybe ten seconds of mental coercion to recognize that it was Steve Howe, and quite some time later, when I was in bed, did it hit me that they were playing Masquerade. Don't you hate when that happens, when you have the revelation right as you're ready to fall asleep? Anyway, I realize that someone there must be a fan, because Masquerade, to my knowledge, hasn't gotten any radio play here. Just my little bit of excitement that I'd thought to share.
Tim, this site is the nuts! You da man!

Thanks Yvette, not to get some more Yesfans over here. As for yes music heard here or there. There is a local radio show, Dave Ramsey Show (financial show) which is also national, well they use Yes snippits from time to time coming into and out of commercails.

Even Rush uses SK for bumper music every once in a while....

Actually Masquerade won a grammy or was at least nominated for one, so it is pretty well known in a way, and I am not suprised that someone would use a grammy nominated song in a TV spot over a regular soundtrack musician's song.
I haven't heard Rush Limbaugh's show or seen it in a lLONG time, but I heard he uses Siberian Khatru as an opener, what an odd place to hear Yesmusic.
If it weren't for the publicity I bet yes wouldn't allow him to use it.

Masquerade was nominated, but did not win the Grammy.

Now THAT's what I call prog sighting of the day.
Actually I don't understand why Steve never plays Masquerade live. It's not less beautiful than Mood or Clap

Thanks for reviving this thread umgekehrt.
I don't know why Steve never plays Masquerade either. It's a beautiful tune and would definately give the other overplayed accoustical songs a break.

I was in the car one day with my dad and he had some talk radio on. 580 CFRA, Original Shifty probably knows what I'm talking about. Anyway there was a program on about couples and relationships and they used Going for the One as the bumper music.
And two times I've heard Yes music used briefly during sports coverage. One time CBC was showing some horse jumping thing and they used "Love Will Find A Way" and one time I could have sworn I heard a brief clip of "Endless Dream" during coverage of Olympic gymnastics a few years back.
