one: one the word will enter all our hearts (future times)
is it just my imagination, or does jon tell us over and over to trust, love, embrace, even revere, the future? isn't that message kinda rare these days? i wonder if he has seen into the future somehow, and found relief. i really want to believe him. my thirteen-year old asked me yesterday if she'd be dead before global overheat... i knew she wanted me to say yes, so i did, and she was relieved, but then she started thinking about her own children, and we both felt pretty trapped... and now my sister says her son may be called back to a third tour in iraq, yes third! and while our epidemic becomes obesity, darfur's is starvation... so much madness everywhere... somebody, please, hold the light! hold the light! is it true that "out of love we'll come a long long glorious way?"
at the start of every day, a child begins to play, and all we need to know is that the future is a friend of yours and mine...
really? truly? hey, i wonder what that gadget on the cover of union is for? to see into the future maybe? if the future is really that great, yes needs to worldtour in 2008-2009 and spread the word, cause "it takes a loving heart to see and show this love for our own ecology" and i don't see anybody else seeing it or showing it...

This is a very good point and I agree wholeheartedly, except maybe the part that nobody else is doing it. I've heard many other artists sing the same message....from Van Morrison to John Mellencamp. I would agree that Yes seems to be the only group stating the message consistently, eloquently and so beautifully.
I've always felt that the way to World Enlightenment (which I believe is absolutely necessary) is through music. As the new love inside each of us begins it can spread to everyone like an ever opening flower. Everyone can do their part. I want to hear a million voices singing!
I feel the struggles we face today are the effects of the past creating new beginnings to come. The changing universe which we are part forces us into deeper understanding of the process and of the ways in which we must evolve to acheive the balance we all seek. Jon's words are a vision into how to achieve this balance within and without. Basically we have no choice but to be positive and optmistic. The alternative will only help to defeat the goal, which is our survival. The global changes and delimas we face will ultimately teach us better and new ways to live in harmony with the planet.

The future lasts forever but is gone in an instant. Our past will show if our paths have been true.
Be the best person you can be - now.

My take on it is that we don't know the future, the past is past, and all we've got is now...which is a good thing, IMHO. :lmao:

"Live for today. Screw the future."
Another Yesfan once said that, and it's had a profound effect on me ever since. I don't worry about tomorrow, I live for the joy of living now. Que sera sera.

If we have to hope for something let's begin with the future.

Well then, I'm waiting for the world tour. The Huge, Huge, Colossal one. The Mega One. With ground breaking stage design by Rodger Dean. Large screens everywhere, something that is outstanding.
A Yes Fest that last longer than a couple of hours and no fear of being sold out in the biggest concert ever.
:Wow:

I believe that it is this very existentialism that has caused much of the misery in the 20th century.
