Thanks for posting that Tim! I don't know Blackfield at all but I am going to get to know them soon after that.
BTW - I played the trailer and thought that the song seems to jump from one thing to another in a rather haphazard way.
D'uh!!

Just as I was thinking that modern rock music could get no better than the flawless Porcupine Tree, I buy Blackfield II!
Can Steven Wilson do NO wrong?

Is it ethical to quote your own posts, or is it narcissism?

You must be the lucky one... it still hasn't been released in the UK yet. Now says won't be released until Oct. 29th, even tho the US release date is still on for Nov. 6.
The guys who shot the video still haven't received their copies yet.

That's interesting. The email is from Burning Shed so it's legit. Maybe overseas orders get sent first?

There was some Dutch guy on the porcupinetreeforum.co.uk board that claims that he's got his copy.
Then again, he also claimed he also has the Lightbulb Sun/Recordings release....
Mine's ordered.

OK! Just watched the DVD.
Excellent show - not full of lasers and flash-bang effects, just the guys doing their thing. Looks like a nice small, intimate venue.
Setlist - everything I wanted to hear (basically the whole 2 albums) EXCEPT This Killer. I really wanted to hear that live and not sure why they played Once twice! Once began the show and then was played again for encore. This Killer would have fitted in nicely for the encore .. but oh well ...
Sound is good, visuals are good.
Aviv is funny! Apart from the glitter eyeshadow(!), he starts the show dressed neatly in jacket, shirt and tie. About halfway through the tie is discarded. Further on the shirt is discarded(!), then the jacket goes too! So he's basically playing in just his pants by the end of the gig. Must have been a hot night ... ;)
Steven (unfortunately) keeps all his gear on ...
Off to play it again now.

We got ours also and Jon had the shrink wrap off immediately... right before he got called out on an emergency... so he's off driving the ambulance and I'm sitting here thinking about watching it before he gets back... oh, bad wife, bad wife!

Well we watched it last night and I see I got plenty of airplay. There's even one second during Someday, where its just me singing.... wow. My favorite tho is when the video camera is focusing on my camera taking pictures. Now thats cool. Even Jon got some on air singing time.... :D
Other than that, the show was great, but Aviv's voice was definitely off. During most of his parts he sounded like a billy goat.... and I just wanted to wash his face and give him a protein shake...
