Just to say Hi, and how I am envious of you US based fans who have inherited one of our greatest exports.

Yep, I've been really envious of the stateside Yes fans who got to experience the live performance of Gates of Delirium... I wish I had been there... although, I still can't stand missing the 1996 SLO concerts... the DVD is awesome... but this summer I am going to the US just to see them again... and probably hear some thing
from TFTO - would be terrific as this is my favorite album of theirs

On the "Open Your Eyes" UK tour a couple of years ago, "The Revealing Science of God" was part of the setlist and it was great to hear this 'live' - I never thought I would have lived to see the day! It was one of the highlights of the show!
On "The Ladder" tour, last time round, I thought that we were about to be treated to "Nous Sommes Du Soleil" but rather frustratingly it turned out be just Jon flexing his vocal chords and lasted about a minute!!!!
I see they even had the audacity to include this on the "House of Yes" live album released recently and list it as one of the tracks on the album!! (lasts for 59 secs!)
I had hoped to hear "Close to the Edge" live one day, but I'm not holding my breath!

That's why I was so intrigued to see the KTA DVD
with live performances of both CTTE and RSOG -
absolutely awesome. They performed RSOG live
again in March 1998 at Mannheim (I have
downloaded the bootleg from Napster, somebody
must have been sitting in the audience with a
portable DVD recorder - awesome quality!!!)
and I still can't get over missing that performance
(Mannheim is my birth town but I was in the middle
of a move and job change back then...)
I'm looking forward to their new orchestral works -
I hope they'll come up with a piece in the tradition
of TFTO (which Wakeman hated, and he's not
joining them for the new album and tour) - at
the Yahoo Yes club they keep telling about the
rumor that they are going to perform "The
Remembering" with an orchester instead of a
keyboardist...
that would really be a dream come true!
Hope to meet some of you at Konocti Harbor
(is anybody except me going there?)
Thomas
