6/24/2007 at the Tulalip Amphitheater in Tulalip, WA. I think this is the same place they opened for Peter Frampton.

Just confirmed to me. Should be on the White web site any time. Here is the concert venue info:

I thought this lot finished with Alan preparing for Circa and Geoff back with Asia. What kind of show can be expected with 4 days rehearsal and a substitute in the keyboards role? White, YES and King Crimson material? Perchance an evening of blues standards to be enjoyed by all?

Cheers! http://yesfans.com/images/smilies/appl%5B1%5D.gif

My guess is that the keys will be filled in by Mark Cardenas or Paul Sherman. Cardenas has played with them several times and Paul Sherman played with them back in January. Both are stellar.

PLAYING AGAIN

It's been a while - many things have happened worth writing about - but only so much time -

But today's news is the band is going to play on a bill with the New Cars featuring Todd Rundgren. Short notice. June 24th. Tulalip Amphitheater. 6pm we play.

In my last band MerKaBa, we had the rotating drummer situation. In this band, we have the rotating keyboard situation. But I'm very happy to say my old friend Phil Davis, aka Peter Davis, will be filling the keyboard position. The guy can play anything. It will be great to play with him again

Just from listening to cuts from "White" and "Circa:," made me ask a question pertaining to and supporting my opinion that something has been wrong with Yes the last 10 to 15 years.

That question of late is:

"Why do these bands create music that to me is uplifting, influential and alive, and Yes can't?"

Can someone answer for me why Yes has taken all the elements that have been ripped by many, like the longer format, loungey, no spine, vaccuous and/or straight up sugar bubble gum pop-ish attempts and run them into the ground with the last 3 or 4 albums and these bands create music that sounds more inspired, has some teeth, good writing, and god-forbid, be able to sound like modern, updated prog, which is both futuristic and yet comforting in it's familiarity?

What resident of YesTor is gumming up the works?

Chris, Jon, Steve, Rick?

Jeez, you'd think someone over there would have gotten the message that that style "ain't gonna bring nobody 'round," and quite frankly, judging by their relevance of late, hasn't.

I was always scratching my head and saying "If you're gonna make an album and slog through the world touring. If you've got to do all that effort anyway, why not make music you can be proud of and want to play live instead of shelving it forever after the product release. Never to be performed nor barely mentioned in music circles again."

Well, I was not there, but I did get the basic skivvy on this gig.

The band went on at 6pm and performed for 30 minutes. Songs:

New Day
Crazy Believer
Sea Of Lies
Give Up Giving Up
Mighty Love
and they ended with Changes

The weather was off and on cold/rainy/sunny. It certainly was a weird weather day.

When the band went on stage there were about 150 people in the audience and about 500 when they finished. They were able to sells some CD's afterward as well.

The keyboard player, Phil Davis, apparently brings a lot of life to the keyboard role and the band would love to have him play again. He brought a Hammond B-3 into the mix, which gave the songs some good crunch.

The New Cars went on at 7pm. Apparently they had to take a couple breaks due to intermittent rain.

That's all I know.
