A new variation of the ABWH CD has been spotted. It's apparantly been reissued. It's still on the Arista label. The front of the CD artwork hasn't changed. The back, however, is no longer black with the track titles in red. The words ANDERSON BRUFORD WAKEMAN HOWE are in Roger Dean letters on the original. On the new version, ANDERSON BRUFORD WAKEMAN HOWE is in a black standard font, as are the song titles. These black letters are on a plain light blue background. The Roger Dean style Arista logo is replaced by the standard Arista logo. It also has a BMG Special Products logo. I checked to see if the CD had any extra tracks, but it didn't. The original CD release had a black CD holder tray. This new variation has a clear tray. Behind the clear tray I see the edge of the Dean art that was on the back page of the original CD booklet. I assume this very red Dean painting is seen when you take the CD out of the jewel case. I tried to peer through the edges of the wrapped CD to determine the size of the booklet. From what I could see the original booklet is thicker. I suppose they may have either used thinner material or they've omitted the printed lyrics. I forgot to see if it was still ARCD85-90126. It was only 9.99.

Hmm, I wonder if it's been remastered at all.

I've seen this before. If I can recall it received either a 16 or 24 bits remastering job. I've not bothered to pick it up because I have the original. However, I was a bit stupid for picking up (Re)Union at Wal Mart for 6.99 (Re)Union. It just shows further evidence of a record company trying to milk the YES machine.

WOW - Wakeman Offord White
:D
Somehow, I doubt this is a remaster. When most albums are remastered, there's either a sticker on the shrinkwrap or some text on the back tray that indicates it. I could be wrong, but when I saw this, the only difference I noticed was that the back tray artwork had been changed. Same track lineup, so I was skeptical about this being anything but a reissue.
And besides, if they were to do a proper remaster, why not include the B-side "Vultures" as a bonus track?? The album is just under an hour long and a CD would easily accomodate the extra track.
