Nada. I happened to be thinking about this though - when I was trying to figure out what to have Jon sign next month, that is assuming there will be an autograph line at the show. For a split second I thought about this dvd, then I realised that it will already be signed (right?).

Dear Ian

The booklets are still with the band. We'll ship them as soon as they're ready.

Does Jon usually do a signing? We had him Sign the Vynll Olias, he was thrilled that we had it.

I just go my Jon's lost tapes yesterday, I had forgotten all about, it took forever. So there is hope I guess, can't see why they should take so long.

Hey, I just got my DVD! If the booklet takes as long ....

Nothing yet.:frown: I ordered the CD's at the same time as the DVD and they haven't arrived yet either. Sent an e-mail to Voiceprint last week and they said my order was processed 3rd March and to allow 28 days for shipments to USA - I live in Glasgow, UNITED KINGDOM!!! I will give them until 31st March and if no joy, then they will be receiving a very angry e-mail -the deluxe version!

Well, I don't know about usually - since I've only seen him solo once in 2005. He did sign after the show, but only if you bought a t-shirt, cd, etc. I didn't have the scratch to buy anything, but he signed my ticket stub anyway - I did buy that!

I also got a sampler in the mail this week. A little ridiculous as I already have the sampler AND the box set. I have not received my booklet insert for the DVD and I am getting a little miffed about the whole thing. That's a lot of extra money to spend and not get the satisfaction of having what I've paid for. I believe they've had ample time to fulfill their contractual obligations. I would at least like to have any kind of a booklet and a credit card refund the difference between the regular order and "special" order. I've written VOICEPRINT twice about this and tried to treat it lightly but my patience is beginning to wear a bit thin. If I get ripped off I just will NEVER do business with Voiceprint again no matter how many specialty items they come up with. I'm a bit vindictive that way. A lot of companies only understand being hit in the pocketbook.

I used to own the vhs copy of this, and was very upset to see they sold out of the double pack. I guess I am glad that I should get the regular one from amazon.

Only problem is, I also want to check out the Montreux vid. But this vid has great memories of me as I first got into early Yes. I had just graduated high school, just started college, and this ppv special knocked my socks off! Was just discovering King Crimson at the same time. I love Bruford...:drummer:

Have you received the booklet or are you speaking from previous experience? Jon 'autographed' my t-shirt after one of his concerts in Edinburgh on his solo tour 2005. Just a 'loopy-de-thing' then as well. Contrast that with the 'Jon' signature on his website - a little different you'll agree! Having said that, I really don't fancy scribbling my name 1000 times! How unethical of these people to advertise a product as 'Autographed', charge you extra for it, and AFTER you pay UP FRONT, they tell you that in fact, they ARE NOT autographed yet, and we all have to wait for the band to get around to it. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I wrote a polite email a week ago, to which I have had no reply. My interpretation of this is that they don't have the autographs, and they have no idea when (if?) they will get them. I will write again next week.

Please - everybody else who has ordered this product - WRITE TO VOICEPRINT AND COMPLAIN. And tell all your friends to do likewise. Only when they get a flood of emails will they do anything about actually providing the product WE HAVE ALL PAID FOR and they have FAILED TO PROVIDE. The email address is: info@voiceprint.co.uk

I received an e-mail from Voiceprint on 3rd April in response to my (2nd) query about when I'll receive my 'An Evening Of Yes Music Plus' CD. I also asked about the signed booklets. Finally, I received a reply from Voiceprint. It says:

"Dear Sir

The booklets will be shipped as soon as Mr Howe has finished signing them."

I can only assume from this (very concise) reply that the others have already signed the booklets, and we are only waiting on Steve to finish his.

Give them another month and if nothing has happened, I say we bombard them with emails until we get action.

You're missing the point. Voiceprint advertised the DVD as an autographed product, yet clearly, they DID NOT have the autographs at the time it was offered. In my opinion, that sort of thing is at best misleading, and at worst deceptive and false advertising.

In any event, I disagree completely. If enough people email Voiceprint and complain about this unethical behaviour, they will certainly get a message to Steve to ask him to be prompt.

Well, whaddya know, the 6th has come and gone and still no CD's. I won't get them today either as there's no post due to the Easter holiday. I'll e-mail them again this evening - they'll probably take about 3 days to read it though!
I understand that there are issues which are causing the delay of the booklets being sent out, but I'm in full agreement with those who are of the opinion that Voiceprint have, shall we say, suppressed information. Certainly, had I known the full facts surrounding the booklets, then I'd have been happy to just order the limited edition DVD. I think it's a bit much of Voiceprint to withhold such relevant information and, to add insult to injury, charge us a fiver for the privilege.

Got mine today. Mine has Roger Dean signature on bottom-right corner - in white ink! Wasn't sure at first whether this was printed on, but rubbed my finger nail lightly across it and I can feel the texture so it seems to be a genuine signature.
Unfortunately, I'm too stupid to know how to include a photo of signed booklet!

Did anyone who bought the "ordinary" version get a booklet that had Roger's signature on it. That might be the way to know if it is printed on them all or is an autograph.

It would be brave if someone from voiceprint would leave a reply on this forum for all the fans who have been or feel duped by them, but i fear that will never happen.

I sent them an e-mail a few days ago, and they just don`t reply, AT ALL!!!

A few weeks before that i sent them an angry e-mail about this booklet thing, and then i got a message saying that i could tell all at yesfans.com that the booklets arrived on april 12, and that all will be shipped to everyone very very quickly, and that buyers from outside europe could have to wait up to 28 days for it to arrive (buyers from europe about 7 days).

I live in Holland (i always thought it was next to the UK, but it seems to be on the other side of the universe), and it still has not arrived!

I buy thing via the internet from all over the world, and nothing ever took as long as this (when i buy from the UK things tend to take up to 5 days before it reaches me).

What elke can we do?, they already have our money!
I don`t think it has any priority sending or answering anything.

I don`t mind waiting, but this is just ridiculous!

Getting madder and madder everyday!

Well, this is the answer that was sent after my last e-mail to voiceprint.

"Yes we began sending the booklets out on 12th April, but we didn't finish sending them out until 30th April. If yours happened to be in the last batch, then the item is still in transit. If you have not received it by 15th May, please contact us again."

Could it really be that hard a job?
Sending booklets.

It scares me of what might happen when ordering the Lost Tapes additions or the Wakeman boxset that is coming!

Wow! I'm amazed that I got mine last week considering I got the DVD long after everyone else.

After I left a post elsewhere about what a letdown this has been, I recalled that there was someone out there in Yesworld who had planned multiple trans-Pacific trips to witness Yes-Related program activities, and had to cancel just about all of them because of business failures by the artists involved. That provided a little perspective on THIS particular failure; sitting there waiting for something not to come in the mail is a little bit less disruptive than planning to GO somewhere and have someone not show up!

But I digress... Is it me, or does it fall in with the dumbest decisions you've ever heard of to sell these without having the books signed? You make that decision, you're basically selling a product that doesn't exist.

"Barkeep, I'll have a Maker's on the Rocks." And the bartender gives you a glass full of ice cubes, and goes about his business.

"Please till and re-seed my lawn. And trim the hedges." You come home from work, and the hedges are trimmed, and you've got a tilled field of dirt in your front yard -- no seed, no mulch. You call the landscaper. "Oh, I don't have a spreader. Or a roller. Or seed. But I'm totally going to Home Depot to get all that. When? Oh, soon. Well, maybe next weekend. But yeah, I'm definitely getting it. I'm sorry, I know you're upset, but I don't know what the big deal is, I told you I'd buy that stuff, and when I buy it, I'll do it."

"Oh, and, no, you can't have the part of the check back that you paid in advance for re-seeding the lawn. As soon as I buy seed, I'll do it. And all that other stuff too, I have to buy that."

That wouldn't work, right? The least you would do, as a customer, is not have him back. But that goes without saying. How, as a landscaper, would you accept payment in advance to re-seed the lawn when you didn't have the tools to do it? I mean, unless you were a knave or a fool, that decision wouldn't even occur to you as a possible option, right?

Amateurs.

I live in Holland (i always thought it was next to the UK, but it seems to be on the other side of the universe), and it still has not arrived!

I buy thing via the internet from all over the world, and nothing ever took as long as this (when i buy from the UK things tend to take up to 5 days before it reaches me).

I can tell the answer to that quite easily. When I receive anything from either Europe or America it arrives pretty quickly When I send anything to Europe or America it can take up to three weeks. Why...Well the answer is easy. The Royal mail in the UK is possibly the worse run and most disorganised communications service in the world. When things aren't being lost or delayed they get stolen. I know because I suffer regularly from things going missing in the UK.
On one occasion a few years ago I was losing over 60% of my mail. I had to involve the police and the Royal Mail internal security staff. The idiot stealing my mail even stole the test package! He was eventually caught and received a jail sentence but to be honest the Royal Mail is the bane of my life. It is just useless.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when Voiceprint ships products, got a couple of other things from them quickly.

When it takes this long it becomes a question of if, and not so much as when. Though it would be nice to have.

The concert DVDs are great, and one of the best "Yes" recorded shows.

I order a lot from the U.K. too, but this really takes the bisquit!
I think i lose about 10% of the orders coming from the U.K., so i`m lucky, i guess.
But, never before have i seen such a badly run company, with such a "no knowledge of anything" staff.

I know there were problems in the U.K. with Royal Mail, but most have been solved now.
There will always be packages that will be lost, but nothing is perfect, and i don`t think anything will be.

But again, Voiceprint is the most unbelievable company i`ve ever encountered.

I tend to order most voiceprint releases from other retailers when i can (sometimes cheaper too!), but alas, it is not always possible.

Well, i`ll wait and see what will happen after the 15th of May, or i`ll contact them again (i guess more than 500 booklets were signed, otherwise they must have a real problem on top of this one).

There's a nice bend/crease in the envelope which affects one corner of the booklet (not to bad considering it came from Switzerland). You'd think they could have packaged this better for international mailing. Why does Voiceprint's stuff get mailed from Zurich anyway? Our long national nightmare is over!

VP is not itsy bitsy or run out of a spare room ! They have a building with multiple staff in multiple rooms, and a warehouse on the side ! The staff are very friendly people personally, and the building is bursting at the sides with interesting releases.

They have, over their 16 years of trading, released many high quality releases, at fair prices, with prompt delivery of products. This includes products others wouldn't release.

There have along the way been the occasional hiccup, for example as discussed on this forum, the mis-pressing of 90124. But I doubt any record company has escaped mis-pressings ! (my multimedia label's first release was mispressed, I hope its soon to be released other releases won't be.....who knows.......its beyond a label's control what happens at a factory. So I've experienced it too.)

I have been associated with them for 9 years. That is why, some time ago, I was happy to recommend them to Jon (as I have to many other artists previously.) I am extremely grateful for their support and friendship to me during the first 8 long years of our association.

I have noted that is it only in the last 9 months or so, that I have, and fans have, been very unhappy with VP. So I wonder if its appropriate to judge them on each release, its price, its quality, and its delivery ?

They wouldn't score too highly on Jon related stuff, certainly not in my book, nor in fan's books it seems, but on other releases they have been excellent. If you hate a company, you risk damaging the career of every artist signed to them, which is unfair on those hardworking third parties.

I fully respect consumer's rights and democratic speech, and encourage everyone to excercise their rights in any situation, as part of my political views, which is to respect the beauty of a democracy. But hateful rants will not further anyone or anything.

I have left my strong personal and professional feelings out of this posting, because I think its important to get across that there are many artists trying their best, for which working with VP has been beneficial....I think Rick is probably one.

I deeply deeply regret some of the ways in which Jon's stuff has been handled by them, and won't recommend them to another artist, but please join me in not being hateful - hate won't help any situation will it ?

I'm going to sit down decide on a different VP release to listen too, I appreciate many of them, and I'm going to think positively for a while...perhaps others might do the same ? Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy the music.:headset:

I haven't had too many issues with VP...

I had a lot of trouble with the ELP store, with regard to those Asia official boots from '06... took me three months to get the correct discs from them... be warned... so, it's understandable people are disappointed with VP about the delivery of their discs... they should have been signed before they even went onsale...

I also think that Classic Pictures, distributor of many Yes DVDs, is a low-rent organization... the quality of their videos, including the packaging and content, has been very poor... lots of flaws... CP is better in idea than it is in execution...

still

relayeire
05-10-2007, 11:24 AM
come to think of it, I was a bit disappointed with the ABWH DVD... (I did not get the autographed one, mind you)

the packaging was a recreation of old artwork that had a flawed track listing... Themes has all its sub-parts listed, whereas CTTE, AYAI, ISAGP, BOM, OOTU were multi-part songs, but did not have their separate sections named... this was always odd, and certainly could have been corrected in the decade-plus since it was originally released...

and they did chop up the show, removing Jon's walk-on and his intros to songs; whereas my 1995 laser disc has the show verbatim... yeah, Jon's walk-on is thrown into the extras, but it doesn't belong there...

Well having spoken to the VP MD and asked him he said they do not have an office or even a warehouse in Switzerland so I don't know how your stuff has shipped from Switzerland unless it goes from the North East of England via Switzerland which would seem stupid. I am not saying that your CDs don't go via Switzerland but as far as I am aware everything ships from the North East of the UK and I can vouch that the Jon Box sets all went from there as did the ABWH booklets. Where they go from there is anybody's guess as the postal service in the UK is absolutely dreadful but as I have said Voiceprint DO NOT have facilities in Switzerland in terms of offices shipping facilities or pressing facilities so perhaps it will remain a mystery:headset:

Everything I have ever got from Voiceprint bore stamps clearly indicating it had been shipped from Switzerland. The JA Boxset was a bigger parcel and was held at the Customs office for a routine inspection. As you know, trading within the EU is 100% customs-free, so it must've come from Switzerland which is not an EU member.

Weird at least...:)

It is strange but perhaps it passes through Switzerland on its way to Slovakia but if there were Voiceprint offices in Switzerland then I would know and would certainly like a trip out there when I meet with the people from Voiceprint. Well, at long last mine has arrived!!!

Not the first one they sent me (that one probably was lost in the mail, or so voiceprint thinks, it`s possible).

I had to wait until the 15th of May and if it had not arrived by then they would send me a new one.

That one has now arrived on May 22nd.

It was sent to me in a plain envelope (wich always scares me when you think what can happen with the booklet when it`s raining or something heavy and pointy falls on it).

But hey, it`s here and i`m happy it has, no more fearful waiting!

It came from the U.K. via Switzerland, something that Play.com does as well when sending dvd and cd`s etc.
They send via Greece.
Must have something to do with taxes or something.

But ėll stop now, i`m going to stare at my booklet for a while and treasure it!

I'm glad not everyone has had problems with Voiceprint, but they sold me something that did not exist and I still have no proof that it does. There are a lot of words for that.

I got a subsequent email about 2 weeks ago that a replacement booklet would be mailed to me, but I haven't received it yet. How long does it take a booklet to travel from the UK to the US?

I finally got my booklet. I emailed them when I did not get a booklet in their own time frame and they replied to my email and sent a replacement copy which I finally got. I was lucky in that it came on a sunny day as it has been raining so much that occassionaly a piece of mail will be damp.

I had been waiting so long that when it actually came in, it was kind of anticlimatic.

Keep e-mailing them Jenny and I hope you get what you paid for.

If you post a complaint, you should post when the problem is solved, so today, I got mine. I am pleased....

Well I finally got mine today! Yee-hah! And they still sent it to the wrong address, even after I twice gave them my new address. At least the postal service forwarded it to me.

The autographs are funny. Jon's is the expected swirl. Bill's is the only one which is reasonably legible. Steve's and Rick's can be discerned only because I know whose signatures to expect (and 2 out of the 4 are already accounted for).

So, all's well that ends well. Now if my house will just sell, I can order the Jon Box.

All's well with the World at last.......
My signed booklet finally arrived in the mail.
It was worth the wait. The DVD is now a much loved addition to my collection. - (Without the booklet, it wasn't really much better than the 'unofficial' copy most of us already have.)
So my faith in Voiceprint has been somewhat restored.
...I did get a cheaper copy of 'Live From La La Land' from Amazon though!

Never heard of this, what is it?

Got my holder months ago but the flap it goes in has come off its mooring- wish they'd been signed on the entire casing instead originally.

Live From 'La LA Land' is Jon's new live solo show, a 2 CD recently released by Voiceprint.
As I mentioned...Available cheaper elsewhere.

Yea, thanks Anne. Me too. I can now find something else to worry about.....Like getting good seats for YES's 40th tour next year!
