Hi all,

For those who would like to see Alan's performance at Andel Awards in Ostrava, the Czech Republic form March 15-16, I have found some interesting links on the Czech internet.

First of all, you can watch Alan presenting an award and the band playing Imagine during the main ceremony (March 16) in the online archive of the Czech TV:

http://www.ceskatelevize.cz/vysilani/10123093963-hudebni-osobnost-roku-2006/31079-hudebni-osobnost-roku-2006.html?streamtype=RH
(You need RealPlayer to view the stream; the band appears roughly halfway in the stream)

--

I have also found a 30-minute long audio interview with Alan and other members of his 'band' on the pages of Czech Radio Ostrava:
http://www.rozhlas.cz/ostrava/aktualne/_zprava/329264

The interview is in Czech, but there is a translator who translates all
questions to English. (The guests answer in English naturally :)

In a discussion at Yes group at Lopuch (Czech discussion server), one fan ('TomKas&') who attended Alan's concert in a club in Ostrava concert on March 15, says the following:

"The concert was excellent. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the music was great. The band played perfect. They played songs by the Beatles, John Lennon, but also some by Yes (Owner of A Lonely Heart) and other great pieces.
I think the whole event was not intended to overwhelm the audience, it was more about the joy of playing. There were some mistakes (which made the musicians laugh at times). The final jam was a true climax of the whole performance. Hats off
to you Alan and your colleagues! You all sound together very good!
When I was taking a photo with Alan after the concert, he recognized my t-shirt from the last Yes tour and said that the band are planning to go to Prague next year (in June if I understood it correctly)..."

Thanks a lot for the links, Vojtech!

The coolest part is of course what Alan said about Yes visiting Prague next year! Another hint of a 2008 tour.

Oh, you've gotta love that accent of the radio interpreter. :eeek:

Nice! I got front row centre for Alan's drum clinic here Nov. 30 and we got to ask him anything after the demos and songs: Lennon, Yes and all that. Have you got his White CD yet?

The fourth article at the Czech site http://tarkus.hyperlink.cz/news/aktual.htm is about Chris Squire and mentions a Yes tour and his new record label. Are there any Czech speakers who could do a translation?

-------
Dále hovoří o založení vlastního labelu Stone Ghost Records, kde vyjde (snad v prosinci) vznikající nová sólová deska a v létě reedice alba Fish Out Of Water (1975) doplněná o bonusové klipy, živé nahrávky a jeho komentář.

I'm Slovak but these two languages are mutually intelligible, so:

The current issue of the Report magazine features a short interview with the bassist Chris Squire who stated that Yes were planning to start a big tour around the world, Czech Republic hopefully included. He also spoke about his new label, Stone Ghost Records which is going to release his new solo album (due December) as well as a re-edition of his first studio album Fist Out Of Water (1975) with addition of bonus video clips, live footage and a commentary. This should be released in summer this year.

Thanks, nitrus. It's good to see that the band member are still talking about a world tour in 2008. Further details about the Fish Out of Water re-release have also since emerged: http://www.bondegezou.demon.co.uk/wncs.htm#sg

Working fine for me now -- try again, but let me know if it's still not working.
