Hi Guys,
We've finally recovered sufficiently from a brilliant weekend in Budapest to begin updating the HiD website with photos and reviews. It should be up within three days. Meanwhile, you can read some blog entries and see a slide show of pictures on www.myspace.com/davidspeight (http://www.myspace.com/davidspeight) You can read reviews, see more pics and get an idea of what sort of event it was for ourselves, Yesterdays and Flamborough Head at www.yesterdays.hu (http://www.yesterdays.hu)
The gig was recorded for us to release, re-mix etc. so when some samples have been isolated I'll put a link to them.
All the best, Dave
PS. Anyone going to Blackwood Miners Institute on the 25th?

How did the band perform? How were Yesterdays? What was the audience reaction?

Sorry guys, GM's correct, Blackwood is the 23rd!
Brotherofmine, I can recommend the yesterdays.hu site for a review of the gig, its very honest(!) In my opinion, all three bands had their own thing to offer, Yesterdays have their very own style, their songs are very proggy (70's) but they play with a lot of emotion. They are one of those bands you need to SEE as well as HEAR. The guitarist is very energetic and versatile (but that can be said for the whole band) A very proficient band (I'm biased...I've always liked them!)
Flamborough Head are more mainstream prog, but they produced a lovely rich sound.Their songs were very very powerful (the guitarists' playing reminding me of Dave Gilmour at times)...They don't attempt to baffle you with intricate, over the top prog, they're just dam good at what they do....a very tight and experienced band!
As for HiD? you have to check out the above website, as I can't really comment!! except to say that the crowd recieved us well..it was something 'new' to them. Pete, Nick and I enjoyed what we did, a bit shakey in places but there was certainly some variety in our material. Although it was only the second gig with me, it was easily the best so far.

BTW, I've put some pics up on the HiD website, and although I've written a review page for the gig, I'm having problems with its upload...it's really frustrating. (if my drumming was like my website skills, I'd be in big trouble!!) In the meantime, as you've probably seen, there's a fair bit about the gig + photos on at www.myspace.com/davidspeight (http://www.myspace.com/davidspeight).
