I'm a self-styled Yes fanatic and saw the band on their excellent Ladder tour (at the Royal Albert Hall, no less). So it was no surprise when I settled down to my newly-acquired House of Blues dvd to be completely enthralled by the experience from first to last. Yes truly rock on this dvd! It was wonderful having the images of the band caught in yesteryear footage at the start of the concert section of the dvd. This reminded me of the backdrop at the RAH show where they did the same thing (I thought that was a fab touch - when I watched it on the dvd I felt a shiver run down my spine as I recollected how many years this glorious band have been around and wondered at the magnitude of their sublime achievement). There was a smashing mix on the Ladder tour between old and new tracks which worked very well. The whole band were in cracking form and they looked so happy on stage both in the gig I went to and the House of Blues affair. An added point of note were the comments made by Chris in the documentary side of the dvd. I was much taken by the complimentary words he had for the Yes faithful, thanking us all for the support we had given the band over the years and saying how much Yes appreciated it. That meant a lot, I must say. All I can say is that the feeling is more than mutual. Every Yes concert I have attended has been a privileged experience for me. Long may the band reign supreme!
