This is hard, because I seem to always think of the Peter Banks period as one. But TAAW wins by a nose because of Astral Traveller, and also Everydays.

^&%$##& I voted wrong. Meant to vote for TAAW. Just the title track alone would do it for me.

I hope Yes pulls this one out, its awesome.

As much as I feel "Time and a Word" lifted the YES dream, there's a feeling of true joy I receive from "YES" that I don't get from many of their LP's. I'm sure it's because "YES" began my long standing devotion to the band all those years ago. And, it really is a strong debut ! I vote "YES".

"Time And A Word" ; I quess because I love that song.

I love TAAW. The title track, "No Opportunity," "Sweet Dreams," and "The Prophet" are all awesome tunes. Tony Kaye deserves a lot more credit than he gets for either album, though!

What if we have a stalemate?

What if we have a stalemate?
Then we'll just have to keep bumping this thread up until more people vote and a clear winner emerges! ;)

In the morning when you rise
Do you open up your eyes
See what I see?
Do you see the same things everyday?

Yeah but the poll ends automatically in a week. I guess if it's a stalemate both albums win, and another album will be added, so we will vote among 3 albums?

Good question. Dunno, I guess we'll just leave it up to the mysterious Something who started this thread...

years ago I would have said TAAW without hesitation... I've really come to like the first album, though, after shunning it for a long time... I might give it to TAAW just for Astral Traveller, their first really "proggy" song... great playing and arrangement... great post, but a tough one, BassFishGirl... nice GFTO live photo!

Time and a Word

In my opinion, I'd say you can hear the quality of the
song writing getting better with TAAW.

I hate TAAW as a concept, so I voted for the first one.

I wonder, if they took TAAW and removed the orchestra like the Beatles did on Let It Be, if I'd like it better. Hmmm, Time and a Word - Naked.

Judging from the lady on the cover, it would have to be Tima and a Word - Stripped to the bone :lmao:

YES, for "Survival", but Time and a Word was close for "Astral Traveller".

As far as I'm concerned Yes should record with an orchestra more often.

Judging from TAAW, FOOW, and Magnification, I agree!

I voted TAAW, in SPITE of the title track, which everyone seems to love but me. It's almost as annoying as Imagine. Even so, the songwriting on the rest of the album is slightly better than on Yes. I like both albums a lot, with a special fondness for the ones that made it on to Yesterdays, the second Yes Album I bought.

The title track from TAAW is a good song, but it's a pop song. It was great when they did an acoustic medley of it with Ooalh and Teakbois during the ABWH tour.

What about winner VIII????

The Whale
12-28-2006, 11:34 AM
wouldn't it just be easyer to do the albums in order they were released and just to the last winner agenst the next album then you would just have CTTE beat every album after it and it would be CTTE vs. the next release and we would just mathoticly wait for CTTE to be crowend again.

every time we do these things it goes CTTE, Relayer, Tales, GFTO, and then there are some suprized depending on how many westeys and how many troopers are visiting alot that week. I'm just going to cast my vote for CTTE now.
