Hey, do we know when each of the songs was recorded? For example, I assume some were recorded in 1989/1990 - and can begin to guess which ones - but don't really know for sure.

No particular reason. I'm just one of those obsessives who must know such things...

Thanks!

Not sure. It is good album that has its moments. I have not heard the second one yet.

I don't think we have seen the last of the Squire/Sherwood connection. Hopefully, that is the last we have seen of it in Yes however. Nothing wrong with it, but I prefer we see more Anderson, Squire, Howe, Wakeman, White.

Steve does not like playing with another guitarist, and Sherwood was in his way. It is obvious.

Honestly, I believe most of it was recorded in and around the Pre-Union period...89-90.

I could be wrong. Maybe I should just ask.

The second Conspiracy album is Brilliant...
However my favorite Chris Squire song ever is on the first album, Red Light Ahead.

Yeah, that's my favorite too.

The first Conspiracy album is a mixed bag - some songs were recorded in the Union period, some in the time of the Chris Squire Experiment and others were made for the album. It's not very consistent.

The Unknown, as it's already been mentioned, is brilliant. Great songs, some of them progressive as hell (the title song!) and stellar production. It's very underappreciated, I believe time will eventually show how good this album really is.

If I'm not mistaken Billy's clearly stated that the Conspiracy version of The More We Live was its original recording from 1989.

I'm with you. The Unknown is one of my favorite Yes-related albums in a long, long time. Interestingly, one of my other favorites is Syndestructible. Which suggests to me that Mssr. Squire really needs to write and record more outside Yes.

I think this is a great album. I especially love:
Days of Wonder
Light in my Life
Violet Purple Rose
Lonesome Trail
The More We Live
The Big Peace.

I am especially impressed with Billy's songwriting abilities and his unique harmonies. Chris and Billy have created some beautifully haunting music on this album, and I much prefer this version of The More We Live to the Yes version. Jon's singing is just not as powerful nor dynamic. I further agree that the second Conspiracy album is very good as well.
