This is the quintessential Yes opening song.

This is one of Yes' most enduring classics.It rocks, it bobs, it weaves, it morphs in and out of existence, and then it rocks some more.

This is the perfect ending to Close To The Edge.

This song somehow just keeps sounding better to me as time passes by.

How about you?What do you think?

I could listen to this song over and over again...any version from any time.Again, one of Yes' many hidden classics, at least to the uninitiated...a proud member of The Great, Vast Hidden Catalogue...

I couldn't have said it any better. The song IS the song!

<!--StartFragment -->Khatru to you!

It's an outstanding and track! YES is great at taking a relatively simple pop song and turning it into a space trip. Yours Is No Disgrace or On The Silent Wings work in a similar way. Building up tension and playing with the listener's expectations, that's what classic YES is all about.

Did you know that Melissa's living with the Khatru? It's true!

Siberian Khatru is the ultimate show opener. However, if I recall correctly, it is not Wakeman's first choice for opener. His favorite is Parallels and as much as Siberian is my favorite, I'd love to hear them open with Parallels on the next tour, followed by Future Times/Rejoice!

Siberian....aaaahh...

Do I love this tune? Just look at my screenname! :lmao:

It is a great opener, that is certain....the versions from Yessongs (reckless) and the hallowed Wembley 78 (stellar) really stand out. And the studio version has a beautiful magic about it, obviously slower...more deliberate, maybe more graceful?

Of course, try to find an original LP of Close to the Edge without the inevitable inner groove distortion on this track. A challenge for sure. I finally found one, but it took years...

I can see the curtain going up every time I hear Parallels. So that gets my vote.

I love this song - my fav on the CTTE album.

....and I do miss it when it's not played at the beginning of a Yesshow.

I agree. It really is the best song for them to open with as long as Steve is in the band!
