Henry Potts reports:

ABWH's "An Evening of Yes Music Plus" has also been re-released in Brazil as a Region 0 DVD.

I'm unsure whether this is 100% true or not. But if it is, then snap it up - it goes for $150 on ebay.

It's a cheap product of piracy industry. Four songs are missing (Heart of Sunrise, Order of the Universe, Roundabout and Starship Trooper).
We should wait for an official release.

I don't mind giving my hard-earned cash to YES: they deserve it. But I don't want to support the bastads out there trying to make a quick buck off of our band.
I'll keep my credit card in my wallet for now: hope the official release is soon in arriving (After the tour! After the tour! Thanx guys!).

Well, we will be considerably further back, but at leat we have reserved seats! The back rows were the same price as the lawn seats so I got them :)

I did have 5th row center for the Big Generator tour though, and about 20th row Stage Right for the Talk Show, so I have been close a few times....

OK my copy came today. It took 4 days (they shipped FedEx from Brazil!) and about $30.00 US.

The previous reports are pretty much correct. It is a straight video transfer, and missing the last four songs. The quality is pretty much the same as watching it on VHS (although, I have not watched my video in a while).

Some more info that you might find interesting:
The reason these are appearing in Brazil (from what I understand) is a loophole in their copyright laws. Basically, if you own the rights to the video you can release a DVD. The catch is that it is a straight transfer, no extras, nothing special. The artwork is also not included. This DVD is 105 minutes long, missing 45 minutes. I am guessing that they simply put on what would fit on one single-layer DVD. So these aren't exactly pirated copies. They would fall under the same category as the Hong Kong and Japanese releases (QPR, Union, etc.).

Is it worth it? Well, it's a lot cheaper than catching the occasional copy that comes up on eBay. The versions on eBay may be the 2 disc set (pre -dual layer DVD) or the single disc (dual layer) version that was released later. It will typically set you back $150.00 or more.

From my perspective, it was cheaper, and it means I can watch it without worrying about it wearing out like the VHS copy. If they ever get the rights (and the inclination, since Yes is going strong now) to re-release it here I'll pick it up again.

9012Live might be a better deal, since it is the whole video, but the same type of transfer. But, it was a shorter video to begin with and we know that Yes has the rights and plans to do something with that one (although I wonder if that will be put on hold while Rick is still in the band...)

So, if you can spare the $30.00, check it out. I think it's worth it, besides you'll be kicking yourself if this goes out of print and they haven't re-released it in the next 5-10 years...

Rhammill, it's not a matter of a loophole of our law, it's just a pure piracy from Asia straight to Brazil.
Regarding to the 4 missing songs, they put them in the second-layer you referred called In the Big Dream (another Yes gem) and another cheap produt of piracy that doesn't give any credits to anyone.
To whom was looking forward to have the official ITBD, you should pick it while the official isn't released.

Interesting - I wonder why it is double the price as the other one.

It doesn't surprise me that they are pirated copies, I was just reporting on the info I had been able to dig up. I wonder if they will get the other three that have yet to be released: Greatest Video Hits, Union and YesYears.

The reason that the 9012 Live is cheaper is that it was given as a free gift by local Magazine (May edition), so it's over.
The other two, ABWH and In the Big Dream are sold by a local stores, they're considered as a really commercial stuff, thus more valuable.
Haven't heard about Greatest Video Hits, Union and YesYears being released in Brazil yet.
I'll post any news regarding to them.

ok . . I had a look at the americanas.com website and found the "In The Big Dream" DVD. I would like to order this but i got these messages in Portugese/Spanish.

I think it is saying that this DVD cannot be sent outside of Brazil? is that correct Omar?

brismike, it says that instead of filling a CEP(a local Zipcode), just put the name of the country (for foreign buyer). You should put somewhere your Zipcode. Brazil have everything to grow up, but they're being running by stupids.
You might see it soon at Ebay. Most 9012 Live DVD are being sold by Brazilians.
Any doubts, please email-me
